I have to brag....but only just a little

Today, the high school kids started back to school (ahhhhh....the peace and quiet in the house is heavenly! LOL). Every year on the first day, they hold a big rally for the students and teachers to get everyone all pumped up about starting back. What I didn't know was that the local news people were there for the rally, and they showed it on the noon news. Now, they didn't interview my daughter or any of the other students, but they panned over the whole student body several times, and my baby was in several of the shots. I know, it's not a major thing, but I just had to brag that I saw my baby on tv! Yep, she's a senior and 17 years old, but she's still my baby! Just wait till she graduates! Imagine how impossible I'll be then! LOL Thanks to all of you for letting me have my little moment here.

How exciting for you!!! Yes, I know about babies. My oldest is 8, but he should still be in diapers. I can't imagine him when he's driving! (I better start stocking up on the hair dye now!!!)
Glad you enjoyed your first day of quiet... I hope there are many more to come.

Sad to say, she hasn't started driving yet. The high school doesn't offer the course, so we have to pay for it at a driving school, and it's very expensive. When she does start driving, I'll be stocking up on even more hair dye than I usually do! LOL

Could I have her autograph? that's a neat thing for her. Senior year is suppose to be "THE BEST" and that will just add to her great memories that she will carry with her for lots of years to come. As for you Miss Kat- Congrats for being such a great proud Mom.!! she should be thankful for you :)

It's always great to see our childrens pictures so others can see be it TV or the living room wall. I have been on the news a few times during different things. Once I went to this scrap yard fire near my house. Now I was with a woman from my work at that time whom my wife had never met. Well when she saw the news of me being intervied she freaked wondering who the heck this other woman was etc etc etc. HAHAHA I had a field day with that one. I have a friend at the A.A. club that calls me his "favorite news celebrity" as he's seen me on the local news a lot. I go to these things to get first hand photos usually. Plus I own a police scanner so I hear about them the same time the news does and make it there before they do. HAHAHA!! My son was on TV once for a basketball game he played in. My daughter was in the churches teen group and traveld the world doing charity work and plays etc. Don't know if she was on out of state TV or not though. Thanks and be proud and brag all ya want I say. I do it all the time. Have you seen the photos of my garden lately? HAHAHAHA! Kidding there. Not really. LOL
HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I may even make it on TV soon as my family is doing a charity walk for Autism. My youngest grandson is autistic. If I do I'll be sure to let ya know. Now as far as an autograph, $10 each with the money going to the Autism Society. HAHAHA!

I would be so excited if this was one of my children as well and you deserve to brag . It doesn't matter how old they get as they will always be our babies at heart . I always tell my children that no matter how old they get they will always be my baby even when they have their own babies as I will never forget holding them in my arms or what it was like when they were younger . It is too bad you didn't know about it earlier as you could have taped the news where your daughter was on but even so I bet it was exciting seeing this .

There's never a thing wrong with being proud of your kids! When you see them in different situations, you can really SEE how pretty or handsome or graceful or full of life they are! I still feel that way about MY babies... they're 42, 40, and 37!!

go one enjoy your self, it may not happen for a while, it seems even for some one like myself there is very little peace and quiet. I did have company over last Friday for about 3 hours and in that time I had 4 telemarketers call. just goes to show you.

Hi Katlady2,
That's so great that your daughter was on t.v. I can see how proud you are of her, and rightly so, as it shows what a good mom you are. Events like this are special. My daughter just turned 16 this summer, and is entering grade 11. I love to tell people of her accomplishments etc. too, and this is as it should be. I have met people who don't understand this, think it's bragging, or just aren't interested, but I've found they're in the minority. Enjoy your peace and quiet too.:)

Wow, congratulations to you and your baby, she must that smart that people chose to interview her. Not all kids have the confidence to face such interviewrs and I am pretty sure your baby carried the interview well.

I didn't get to tape it, darn it. I think the news crew got there just after I dropped her off at school, so I didn't know a thing about it until the news came on. But I think the school will have tapes of it...maybe I can get one of the teachers to copy it for me. LOL

Good for you. There's nothing wrong with being proud of your baby, no matter what the age. I'm proud of min, too, and it's ok, that you brag a little. I'm sure it was probably neat, to see her on tv. Take care.

She actually wants to go to art school. So I am starting to look into schools and see if there are any nearby. There's a possibility that I might enroll her in one of the at home study programs like I'm in for my medical billing. It's all up in the air right now. But at least she now has a goal in mind to work toward. Thanks hon. hugs!
