Lasagna

I would love to hear how other users make lasagna. I live on a budget as I said in a previous post. So I layer my lasagna noodles after boiling them. In between the layers I add my meat mixture (hamburger, seasoning, olives)and cheese. Then I put cheese on top and bake for 20 minutes. I have heard people make it with pepperoni and sausage and stuff. What variations do you make it with?

Yea Lasagna is pretty expensive when it comes to how I like it made, and we too live on a pretty tight budget right now. But we like Italian sausage as well as hamburger I sort of brown them together with green peppers and onions and with a basil and tomato mixture, I mix Roccatta and cottage cheese and make that a layer ontop of the meat. Usually 3 layers with some left over meat sauce and shredded cheese on the top. We dont have it that often mainly because we are not really crazy about the whole Italian style food really. Just have to be in the mood for it.

I am an Italian American and it's funny because in my family on my mother's side they only make cheese lasagna and on my father's side they put different meats and peas into their lasagna. I had more of the cheese lasagna with the meats served on the side because my mother did more of the cooking than my dad did. Now I too want some lasagna. Hmmmmmmm
