It always pending about situation. If I cook for myself I know what is enough for me. But if I invited to a business lunch or a friends-parent-lunch I must to eat everything what I got. If I go to a restaurant and they give me a lot of foods - so that's where I don't need eat everything. But my mom teached me the same :)

I try my best not to waste food but sometimes I let food in the refrigerator go bad because I don't eat it fast enough. I try only to go shopping once a month and I eat up as much as I can before I go shopping so I don't buy a whole lot of food. I eat leftovers all the time even if I get tired of eating it because I don't want to waste it.
When I go places like a buffet I only put as much food on the plate that I know I can finish. I hate going to restaurants and see people leave a lot of food on their plate. Just last Friday I went out to eat and the lady at the table next to me left almost right after they brought her food she didn't even touch it! It was a club sandwich and fries untouched. She could have taken the food with her. When the staff came to clean up they stacked the plates on top of the food so they may have thrown it away. I hope at least some of the staff ate it. I hate to see food wasted.

We don't have pets. I don't like wasting food, especially I know a lot of people in the world are living in starvation. Lucky that my family don't waste food. Whenever we have leftover, we would put it in the fridge and save it for lunch or dinner for the next day. We basically will finish everything within a day or two. And even when we go out to eat, me and my friends will eat everything and try not to waste the food.

Hi there. No like you we dont waste food either, if we do end up having leftovers, we simply cook and add to it the next day, we try not too waste food, but if food has been sitting longer then the next day, then its given to our dog, who eats anything and everything...

Hello laurika, Same thing goes with us when were growing up my mother always taught us never to waste food. We should only get food serving on our plate that we can finish at a time and not too much of it. She would often tells us that we are lucky to have food on our plate and there are some out there who have none and begging for it.
At home we don't throw away leftover food whenever we have some after everymeal. We usually cooked the leftover and make a new dish out of it whenever we have some. Oftentimes we only cooked and served food that would be enough for all of us to eat. We also do the same when were eating out and order only the right amount of food that we can finish and consumed in one sitting. :-)

Dear laurika (140);
I agree 1,000% with your mum tough, taught and thought. Thats good lesson to make practice not only for us but for the next generation. For me any leftovers are good for pets or have to think about giving to any animal that need it. Trash is for the unwanted but not for leftovers.

I hate to waste anything, especially food. I have to admit, however, I am quite guilty of wasting leftovers. I don't know why, but I never seem to be able to eat leftovers even of my favorite food. I've tried freezing things too for a later date but they just end up taking room in my freezer and never getting eaten. I've learned to cook single portion meals to avoid such wastage though, hope I can keep it up :)
