As i was logging in to my Gmail account, a short while ago, I noticed a new box below the sign in box and guess what? Google has started the free signing up for all! That means, it no longer needs invitation to become a user
I think, this is a nice, clever move on google's part. The new look is pretty impressive aswell.
So, you guys there, who doesn't have it as yet, go for it..
Thanks google.

I guess, they did this initially to keep control of the magnitude and number and ofcourse the hype factor couldnot be overlooked.

Thanks for providing the useful information. Though my g-mail account still shows that I have so many invitations say '50' left, which I can send to others for helping them opening an account.

Mimpi,
Thanks for sharing this kind of useful information. I am having account in Gmail, but I had changed the settings in that. Now, I can receive all my mails on my official e-mail id. Getting less time to give to myLot.
Take care n bye...

Good to hear that you are busy with work. Do great in your job. I cannot visit this place like the way i used to do due to time constraint, but it's fun being here.

back when gmail first came out, I was just dieing to get one, but never got an invitation. Now 2 years later, I find I have no interest in getting one anymore, so I never did.
I was wondering though, I've had my current email since 1997, I've never had a probelm with it, so, for those who have gmail, what are the advantages of it? Is it really that much better than other email services? What features does it have that might entice me to get one?

Hi EelKat,
Its actually more of a nostalgia. Like my first ever email ID was with Yahoo and I can never imagine to do without it. Gmail came much later and I found it quite fast and friendly with a nice chating facility. But then, there are so many others who kind of provide the same kind of service. So, I feel, it's more of a emotional bond that helps us chose one from the other.
smiles..

It's good that Gmail makes it free to register now....but personally, Yahoo mail is much better coz now they have unlimited storage so you don't have to delete anything ever....

Actually i think, it's more subjective. I find Gmail quite useful, easy, fast and supportive. But then there are ppl who don't.
have a nice day.

That sounds like a good idea. I thought you could only have one gmail account and I have one for my friends as well as a goosemoose account, a subsidiary of gmail for my religious and my business mail, but I was thinking of a writing email, since that one has a limited allowance.
