Spiritual warfare

A close friend of mine sent me an email yesterday. She is a Christian, I am a pastor. She had been telling me of some really weird things that have been going on at her house, such as coming home several times to find the door and grill wide open after knowing for sure that she had locked them when she was leaving, having weir dreams at night involving a black cat, sensations of an evil presence in the room at nights... then over the weekend her neigbor who has been very unfriendly since she moved there reported to her that it has been revealed to her by a witch doctor that she had visitited that my friend was her enemy. The neigbor said that many times she would hear someone calling her during the day when my friend is not there and the person would identify themselves by my friends name. she also said that many times when no one is at home she hears footsteps and toilets being flushed in my friends house. Now people on my lot tell me your spin on this. Do you believe in spiritual warfare. Have you experienced anything like this or know of anyone who has?

I believe in spiritual warfare but not of this kind. I believe it's more about things we do not see or hear. I think your friends neighbor may be trying to purposely drive her out of her home and making things up and/or maybe even she went into her house and opened the doors.

Hello ghettopriest, No I have not experienced anything to that extent, but I do discern evil. (I don't mean evil as in a bad person, I am talking about demons, which is why I no longer expose myself to certain things) I do know some who has though, she is a wiccan I am ministering to. she hears demons talk to her and tell her things. One night she was hijacked from her body and taken somewhere. A friend called at the time and said she didn't sound like herself.. So if you are a Pastor and haven't personally experienced this, then you know that it is all through the NT where there were demon posessed men and women. So yeah I believe..

I have certainly experienced them myself. What is a wiccan? And yes we must be very careful of what we expose ourselves to.

Oh for the love of flippin Pete whoever the hell he is....Wicca is first off NOT evil nor does it have anything to do with any so called "evil" so PLEASE do NOT misrepresent it carmelanirel...that is REALLY wrong for you to put out such an implication... Wicca is a modern day Earth Based religion...sort of a spin off of old world Witchcraft but it actually is fairly different in a lot of ways....It's a harmless religion and if ppl pay attention and educate themselves much like numerous other Earth Based paths Wicca is a pretty gentle one.... "she hears demons talk to her and tell her things" can you elaborate on that? I mean how does she or anyone know they were "demons" and secondly what sorts of things did they tell her? Not to be rude but who's to say she doesnt have a mental disorder of some kind or medical condition for that matter? Please dont jump on the "Ooooh Wicca and Witchcraft are evil and bad" bandwagon seriously..I think we have enough ppl out there yammering that sort of nonsense....instead of goin with just one person has to say please try talking to various Pagans...there are plenty of us here ranging from Witches such as my self to Wiccans (yes there is a differnce) to I believe there are even a few Druids here as well and so on...

No I dont believe in Spiritual Warfare like what i'm assuming you believe it is..I dont believe in Heaven or Hell therefore I dont believe in Satan or God...I DO believe that we are VERY capable of manifesting unusual happenings in our lives and i also am a firm believer that ppl when unbalanced in major ways can suffer what SEEMS LIKE spiritual warfare but is actually a war within themselves and is not supernatural or spiritual at all...Kind of like a Dr Jekyll/Mr Hyde syndrome so to speak.... I also though believe in spirits as in angels or loved ones passed before us and I do know that sometimes dependingn on "who" it is (the spirits that surround us arent just ppl we knew) they can be playful and even little buggers when they want to be but not with any ill intent....Think of a child for example who likes to play hide and seek everytime grampa comes over or a favourite auntie or whatever....they get sneaky, giddy and playful..I've found that sometimes spirits are like that...they just want to play or even just want some attention... I think maybe your friend is feeling that an "evil" presense is in the room when its really just a "different" or "new" presense...not necessarily evil... Dont get me wrong...I do think that there are some spirits who are bitter and angry but its IMO very very rare that they pull an "The Entity" moment (good movie apparently based on a true case)

You are a pastor, of what religion and what is your take on this? I am genuinely interested in knowing. As for me. I never discount anything that happens. Because I do not know about the thereafter myself. I have witnessed weir dthings that could be classified as ghosts or spirits or they could be blamed on the fact that I was a lone and it was night time and I was scared or tired or whatever.

I am a pastor of Jesus Christ. I therefore believe firmly in the forces of darkness, satan, hell, demons. I have been myself attacked and threatende by demons. As a trained guidance counsellor I know that there is a thin line btween demonic activity and some mental disorders, but I am able to tell the difference. I have cast out demons before, so I know that the power of Jesus extends and transcends time and space. I don't go demonizing evrything I see or going on witch hunts but where they present themselves where I am take a zero tolernace approach and use the power in the name and blood of Jesus to drive them out.

My parents used to say they did not believe in god and I wouldn't describe myself as a christian but I definately believe in god. What I know comes from within I taught myself what I believe. Goodness is god and badness is evil. Simple as that. Trouble is with religions they try to control (structured religions) This is why all those slave drivers would call themselves christian which, in my mind, must be wrong, if they were doing that. Simplicity is where it's all at,good, bad - what more can I say. Denise

I think we have all just been reminded of that old addage. If you can't lie to someone why talk to them. Apparentaly this person feels a need to talk to someone.

Yes, I do believe in the presence of spirits, good and bad. This looks like a bad spirit. Will you go down to exhort this spirit as you are a pastor. Do you have the courage to do it ? Not everyone can face evil spirits. Maybe you could go and sprinkle holy water everywhere. When I was in the college hostel, we had a green ghost like thing trying to stangle the students. We then had prayers of all religions so as to bring peace to the soul. Then all of a sudden it stopped. It was scary when students got up in the middle of the night yelling that someone was trying to strngle them.
