Pedophilia

This is a nasty topic especially for any parent.... I have a group of friends and we like to debate various of the "hardcore" topics such as polotics and religion etc... Pedophilia recently came up and started this HUGE almost argument amoung all 6 of us. I was somewhat suprised at how vehemently this made some of us debate. We are normally very respectful of each other and our very opposite opinions lol! My stand is that pedophilia cannot be CURED. It cannot be corrected. It is what it is. It is a blight and a horrid part of society. I am all for the execution of pedophiles because they will serve their time in jail and then get out and re-offend. Rather than spend all of the time and money to keep these people in jail, safe from other inmates, then keeping children safe from them, spending the money to feed, clothe and keep them warm, I think they should be executed. Harsh but it works. I think they should be executed because they ruin lives. Seriously ruin lives. OF INNOCENT babies! Once you have been ruined in this sort of way you will never be "fixed" I don't care how many docoters or therapists you see or drugs you take, you are never fixed. I have a friend that thinks pedophilia is curable and that I am horrible "red nek" and backwards to just want to execute these "poor people" (I choke on her words as I type them). What is your stand? Please speak bluntly and unafraid even if you believe as my friend does. I am not the kind of person to call names or get nasty with you. I love discussion. But please explain fully why you think the way you do about this.

Pedophiles must be executed that is my stand. They are ruins to any child's hope and future. This offenders must be out of the society they must go somewhere else. I was molested by my music teacher and I have a problem with my sexuality now because of that and it should be stopped for my hope is gone.

personally, i think it's totally sick and twisted and they should be put under the jail not in it. That said, I just don't get it. My brother is a writer and his latest work is about pedophilia. He has had me interview pedophiliacs and their victims and it sickens me. There is one young man who was molested for most of his life, by his father. His father was incarcerated but his attractions continue to be for children. He cannot establish any relationships with adults of either gender because he feels his peers are with children. It sooooo creeps me out. he hasn't done anything, short of looking at kids on the street. My thought is to lock him up to keep him from doing anything. He, himself, told me that castration wouldn't do it. he would still want to touch them. I may not necessarily think they should be killed, but they should be castrated and have a tracking system. If a man or woman molests a child, they are only a hairs length away from murder to cover their crime. I have so many mixed feelings,, but my thoughts are always for my kids and my nieces and nephews. I have to say, lock them up forever, or track them and make them stay away from where any children are.

I never understood why people would grow to be a pedophile, but even if they did, are those people seeking therapy for it? Probaly not, which leads me to believe that pedophilia is a self centered behavior, therefor I feel no sorrow for those whom claim to be born with it, its hard for me to believe, I think that some people are severly psychotic which lead them to this behavior.

Well I would really like to share my opinion on this, but YOU have already summed it up for me exactly. LOL I have always felt Pedophiles need to be removed from the planet the instant they are found. No reform, not therapy and no second chances. It's been proven more times over and over again regardless how much a bleeding heart tries to "fix" them, they go right back out here and hurt another child. So wipe them off the friggin planet and be done with it. In fact public hangings need to be brought back for them and them alone, IMO. Then watch the rate of these low lives drop, cause when faced with hanging from a rope rather than therapy, I am sure many would be discouraged from acting on their twisted impulses.

I'm on your side here. There is no cure. Most of them will tell you that there is no cure. They will say they have gotten therapy but still hold an attraction toward young children. The very very most they are able to do is make a concious effort to stay away from little children and situations that lead them to trouble.

Yes, stay away from the temptation right? But that doesn't stop them from going online to chat rooms and downloading all of this sick stuff and then after looking at it and playing with themselves for a few months they are going to want more than images.
