Hi Everybody! As one of my favorite cartoon characters used to say; "be very, very afraid!" I can't get the internet on my home computer after surfing other folks sites (listed on myLots)! I can't blame any one site in particular, but after surfing just last night, my home page was changed to Google, and it automatically shuts down. I can't get in the internet properties to change anything - I get a restricted message; call your program administrator! I am going to get an IT wiz to look at it. Any insight or questions you have; send it on!

Your computer might have gotten a spyware. Ran an antispyware program on the computer.

I use Adaware and I use Avira Free Antivirus. This is good because if there is a Trojan, they will pop up a message saying that there is a suspected trojan and what do you want to do about it? I also use the Windows XP firewall. If you use Firefox, there may be an extension that prevents someone changing your home page.
You should also check to see if you have administrative privileges. If you are sharing your computer, that person may be the administrator and not you, so you should check.
