Many of you will remember the song 'Afternoon Delight' from many years ago, well ...
We were on vacation last week, and went to visit my sister and her family. We had made arrangements for my 16 year old daughter to take her written test, to get her driver's learner's permit. She passed on her first attempt, and so was anxious to get behind the wheel.
My sister, my daughter, and myself, went out to a vacant high school parking lot, for her first driving lesson. When we entered the parking lot, a small red car drove past us, and seemingly disappeared.
She did a few turns around the lot, before we noticed the red car parked at the far end. As she proceeded forward, we noticed that she was coming too close for comfort, to the red car.
The car appeared empty, and then I noticed what I thought to be a dog jumping up and down in the back seat. It looked like a golden retriever to me. I 'often' wear glasses for distant vision, but didn't have them on at the time.
Suddenly, I heard my sister's raised voice saying, "They're having ...," and telling my daughter to get as far away as possible from the car.
This was after the realization from all of us, and the fact that we'd been way too close. We 'all' got an eyeful. I believe it was a 'young couple,' as we'd noticed the guy driving when they'd passed us earlier.
This took place in broad daylight, and there was a daycare centre right near there, with some parents picking their young children up.
Have you ever encountered a situation like this?
What was your reaction?

This is the first time I've ever happened upon anything like this, and it really took me by surprise. I think I know what you mean, about having the feeling that you could get caught at any time, but I won't say anymore about that. Thanks for your response.
I'm sure you have 'some very interesting' stories to tell, Grandpa Bob.;)

HAHAHAHA! What an experience for a first driving time. Anyhow I worked at an area of construction of a new riverside mall here as a security gaurd. Once the boardwalks were in the flies camwe from all over. By flies I mean, well never mind. HAHAHA. But many a couple was caught by me under, or on the boardwalk in provacative positons and or actions to say the least. Too funny.

Hi Grandpa Bob,
This is one my daughter will never forget. When you came upon these types of situations, did the people involved flee, or were they even aware that you were there? Thanks for sharing, as always.:)

hahaha such a funny story well at least the part about you thinking it was a golden retriever, I am so the same way without my glasses on for seeing far away. Anyhoo.. I think it is wrong to do it out in the open and near a day care center but yes I have seen it before mainly in parking lots, near a tree or something like that. Sorry your daughter had that weird first driving experience..must of been embarrassing for her to see that next to her mom and aunt also!

I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one who could make such a mistake, without my glasses. This is the first time I've ever encountered this, and especially in a public area, in the middle of the day. You bring up a good point, as I'm sure it would've been much different if my daughter had seen this, when with a group of friends. Embarrassing ... yes. Thanks for sharing.

SHOCKING is all that I can say!!!
No, I have never encountered anything like this before...day or night! If I did I think I would fall through a grate somewhere if you know what I mean!
So sorry you all experienced this especially your daughter! How inappropriate and disgusting!

OMG - I think I may have laughed as this has happened to me - seeing it not doing it that is! lol The only thing I really think is that they were in far to public a place for such erm well displays! I think they should have thought more about this and got well out of the way - specially of young children! xxx

Hi mummymo,
It's so good to see you here. We all had many and varied reactions, laughter and shock being a couple of them. They definitely should'nt have been out in broad daylight, and in a public place, as you've mentioned. Thanks so much for stopping in.:)
