I like watching reality shows. Some of them I think are scripted but I enjoy them anyways. Last night, I've seen a show that featured a portion of Mark Burnett's interview and he admitted that sometimes they re-enact some scenes in Survivor so that they can take a better shot. So which reality shows do you think are 100 % authentic?

The Ultimate Fighter is defiantly real(and also my favorite reality show). I'd say Pros Versus Joes is probaly real has well. Shows like Big Brother and etc might be real, though I'm not sure. Some of the arguments and stuff are probaly scripted.
I think most of the reality shows that are shown on Spike TV are probaly real.

Well my favorite foreign reality show is "the Amazing Race," I believe that they atleast make their show "real" as possible. I wouldn't think that people would simply cry out there just because they lost, we all know that atleast their tasks are really difiicult to complete. Participants needs to atleast put some thinking into it, exert some effort and the hustle in completing the tasks.

One particular episode that still touches my heart was of those with the cousins, Charla and Mirna. I believe it was Charla who was the midget, is the one who's doing everything for their team to make a win. My tears really fell down, after seeing them lose on that race!;)

There is no such thing as a 100% authentic reality show. All of them are engineered by the producers in some way. Even if you're not actually giving the people scripts or making them re-enact stuff, you are coming up with things for them to do to make things more interesting. Then, you are editing the footage in order to tell a story more effectively. Editing is a very powerful tool which can make trivial events seem important and exclude others altogether.
The only way we could ever have a 100% authentic reality show is if somebody strapped a camera to themselves and went about their everyday life broadcasting it as it happened! Which of course will never make it to our screens because a) it would be pretty boring and b) it would be obscene. Real life is just too chaotic for TV.

I like watching David Blane doing some magic tricks too, I'm not sure though if some of it has been edited. Is that the show entitled "Rockstar"? I haven't seen the INXS season but I've seen Rockstar Supernova wherein Tommy Lee, Jason Newsted and Gilby Clark is looking for a frontman. It is really a nice captivating show!
