Does anyone else have these breeds of dogs? I have two of each. Two females maltese and two male sausage dogs. They are the most beautiful animals ever!
One of my sausage dogs is very dominant and aggressive when it comes to strangers. Does anyone else have this problem?
One of my maltese dogs barks nearly all night every night - she has things to play with, we have tried a "stop barking" collar, spraying with water, yelling at her, taking away her toys, giving her more toys, playing with her lots to wear her out before night...nothing seems to work. And more often than not when you go to see what she is barking at she is just standing in the middle of the yard staring up at the sky...like what the!?!?! HELP!

As I search the internet maltese are very active animals. They are good guard dogs, a slight noise could stimulate their instinct. I think she smells something at night. I have a suggestion, give your dog a walk at night and let's see what she bark's at. About your sausage dog (dachshund??), try to give her a walk so she can adopt and be sociable to others.

I have a part daschund, part chihuahua, and part jack Russell terrier, he is very bad at barking fiercely at strangers. I have actually had to go out and pick him up out of the yard when the water meter reader comes into the yard, because he will not let him near the thing, and he will not let anyone he doesn't know near the front door if he is outside when they come around. My other dog is part chihuahua and part daschund, and he will bark at absolutely nothing if he is outside, they both stay inside most of the time, but if they are outside, OMG it can get really frustrating.
