A Spokane woman with a long history of drug arrests is now under investigation for dealing drugs out of Holy Family Hospital where she was a patient.
The woman had been a patient of Holy Family for awhile and hospital staff members had noticed several visitors come in and out of her hospital room and those visitors were only staying for a short amount of time. They became suspicios and contacted the police.
The woman, who hasn't been charged with a crime yet, was hiding bottles of prescription drugs in the skin folds of her abdomin region. Authorities found methadone and pain killers, some of which were not prescribed to the woman. They also found more than $3,000.00 in cash.
This isn't the first time this woman has been caught with drugs at a hospital. Just last week the police seized a huge rock of cocaine while she was receiving treatment at Sacred Heart Medical Center.
Back at Holy Family, the police are saying the hospital wasn't helpful in releasing needed medical records; in fact court documents show that someome with the hospital's risk management department stated that it was inappropriate for staff to contact police and beleived that othewr steps should have been taken that didn't involve law inforcement officers.
The hospital may be a little more cooperative with the police investigation into this woman's actions as a search warrant is now requiring the hospital to gather those medical records for the police.
WOW! This is different. She was there for treatment and was buying and selling prescription drugs. I think from the history of her...she may have known exactly what she was doing. What do you think?
