I'm thinking of trying to go to Vegas with a small group of friends for my 27th birthday in May (OMG... 27 is almost 30[sigh]!). I was wondering if anyone has been there? What are the must sees, must eats, must drink must stay ats?

hola from Mexico...have been living here for a bit now, but yes I travelled to Vegas with 7 other women, including my 2 best friends from British Columbia, Canadan and their great grandmother who is from Denmar...the older ladies liked to gamble until quite late in the night...lol...me, I of course was a little 'cash poor' but still had a fabulous time...me and my girlfriends got a lot of 'comps' for late night things...I just spent my days wandering around to a few real cheapie bars, hangout at the pool...at night on the strip theres a lot happening...and we would often just see what would happen...espeially loved the pirate fights every nite, and The Venetian I thought was spectacular, but as has been mentioned they are all special in their own way...depends on what you like...have fun...I'm sure ya will...live, love and laugh

Thanks, it does sound like it's a fun place to be even if the cash flow isn't flowing. I'm excited about the trip. I've heard of the Venetian and I was hoping it would be affordable.

Been There and going back Sept 8th! There is everything to see, The strip is always busy (ALL NIGHT). The Casinos are like small cities, If you walk into one don't expect to come out for at least a couple of hours. Each Casino has a theme and a bunch of shopping and places to eat. Definately try and catch a show anything you see will be great but top ones are "O", Danny Ganz (comic), and The Blue Man Group. The top of the Stratosphere there is a resturant that rotates so you get a view of Vegas and the desert (pretty cool) go for lunch the prices are cheaper. Also at the very top of the Stratosphere they have a couple of HEART dropping rides, if you like that sort of thing it would definately be something to tell the folks back home about. If you are a trekky then the Hilton has a Borg Invasion Ride (pretty fun) I went with my hubby and best friend (just make sure you are not the last person in as the borg come from behind you and you could be assimilated :) Basically Vegas has something for everyone. I'm not a gambler and made it 4 days there last time and only gambled $50.00 away. Everything else was spent on things to do! Also if you have the Travel Channel they usually run specials on things to see and do in Vegas. They even have shows that teach you how to gamble and what games have the best odds. Have Fun I hope you decide to go

Thanks for all the info and I hope you get to enjoy your next trip! I am not a big gambler but for me it's all about the nightlife and shows and maybe shopping.

If you haven't been yet ..go see the Hoover Dam and LAke Mead. Just beautful. I loved driving the strip because you see something new all the time. I didn't enjoy the illeagal imigrants handing out cards for hookers! I was there to get married and spend one on one time with my hubby. And you say you are close to 30 like thiry is old?!..lol

I've never been myself but am actually thinkin on taking myself to Vegas either for my bday this yr (I'll be 37 next month) or with the hubby and kids for Xmas...BUT I do know a few ppl who've gone and they LOVED IT...As for what to see and do..well that all depends on what it is that interests you really...I mean Vegas has EVERYTHING you could possibly imagine...A big factor would be your cash flow as well...I mean you COULD go for 4 days on $1000 and have a BLAST (that money would cover your hotel too btw) or if you REALLY want to go all out you could spend more...Regardless though, from what I understand, goin to Vegas on whatever you can muster up money wise you'll have a great time...

I hope you enjoy your bday trip! Cash flow will be a big factor but I figured I've got 7 months to save up for it (or find a rich bf, lol) so I should be able to do it.

Las Vegas? Wow, that I wanted to go to the city, because reading a lot of film on gambling, it is very mysterious in my impression, I want to go where you feel the atmosphere.
