Is it necessary? should husband bring most of the money in the family? this culture has found in the many countries,all husband's had a thought of it?it lead to the EGO am i right?

my dad is retired already so my mom is the only one working know. before my dad really wanted to get another job but he's too old for it already. true it must be the pride or the their ego seeing their loved ones probably living a life they're not used to they probably feel guilty about it. but to me it's not really necessary..
