What do U think is the most Important thing in Communicate with others?

I have some tips on how to get along with people.
First, you should keep chains on your tongue;always say less than you think,cultivate a pleasant,persuasive voice,How you say it often counts more than what you say.
Second,make promise sparingly and keep them faithfully,Be genuinely interested in others,let everyone you meet feel that you regard him or her as a person of importance.
Third,Be cheerful,keep the corners of your mouth turned up,Hide your pains,worries and disappointments under a smile.
Last,Never engage in gossip,Make it a rule to say nothing about another unless it is somehing bad.
This is my opinion,what about you?What do you think is the most important thing in communicate with other people?

with outsiders : know what you want and keep your eyes fixed on the target.
with family and friends : be your self.
