Why does Dubai keep making huge things?

maybe they are making up for something...lol...any future projects coming up that will break a record?

Yeah, the Dubai Mall, biggest shopping mall in the world. It will be right beside the Burj Dubai (Dubai Tower), which will be the tallest tower in the world.

They need to attract visitors and make Dubai known to the world, nothing better than the biggest and tallest to do the job, right? Of course, some might interpret as a waste of (oil) money, anyhow they are creating a real business and investment environment.
