I talk as an italian. Here around is not easy to understand the situation, you know. Old president told us that our troops were standing, toghether with american ones, for the right cause. They called them peace troops. He was talkin about some great friendship between him and president bush...war or not, he was an idiot, anyway. The new govern tell that war is wrong. BUT troops remain there. Who knows why...
What do i think? I really don't know. Some people and some countries say that americans declared war only for their own economy, for oil etc etc. Some others tell that war against terrorism is always right, and\or that americans are fighting for the freedom of a country like the iraq.
I came to this conclusion: until i will be gone there to see with my own eyes, i will never know the truth. The only thing i know is that war IS wrong, anyway, and that i wish it could end soon. For america, for iraq, for african countries about which we know nothing...for everyone.

Looking with the benefit of hindsight, it's easy to say no. But, based on the information that was available at the time with the interests of national security in mind, I have no problem with the decision.

Absolutely not! I live in Canada, and it was horrifying to see the differences between what was being shown on the US news and what we were seeing on our own news. It was clear that there was no link between Al-Queda and Iraq, and that the Bush administration was manipulating public well before the war started.
By the time Bush was running for a second term, it was also clear to anyone outside the US, and Americans who got their news from sources other than Fox News, that his administration had lied about the Weapons of Mass Destruction, yet still he got in for a second term. It is incomprehensible, that so many people have lost their lives, so a handful of rich guys could get richer.

I dont get into issues that surround the war usually. However, my thought on it is simple. I not worry about the war and things around it. I worry about every service member over there fighting. I wish all of them the best of luck and a safe and speedy return to their loved ones.

I doubt hindsight questions such as these would even be contemplated if this administration would have just allowed the military to simply do what it does best and fit a real war without both its arms tied behind its back.

No, I don't think we should have gone to war. The whole Iraq war is just a distraction to keep us from noticing they still haven't found Osama Bin Laden. It's just a continuation of what Bush's father started when he was president. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad that they caught Saddam Hussein. The partying in Dearborn was insane, everyone was so happy. I just don't really thing that it was our battle to start.
