Things Are Moving Really Great For Me

I guess I'm suffering from withdrawal symptoms already from not being here. I had started a discussion that I might not be as active here for awhile, since I'm working on my John Simon Guggenheim grant..I had thought the deadline was its usual October, so figures I had at least a good whole month to work on it, then to only discover, by checking out the website, that nope, the deadline is September 15th!!
So I've been doing a mad scramble to get things done..don't ask how late I was working on it last night, and of course today, but the reward is that I have a lot accomplished and only have one more major piece, the hardest part probably, the grant proposal itself which I have to completely change my tactics from the proposals I had written for the past two years in trying for it
Thankfully, some months ago, I had done a complete new revision of my previously published work (7 printed pages long) and a three page resume, plus a 12 page listing of my stock photos..that is to indicate what subject matter I have in my photo collection..so all I have to do is print that out...if I had to do all that now, I would be having a level ten panic! So thank goodness I had the foresight to do all that when I did instead of now.
So last night I had finished designing a new "header" for both my career summary and what I'll also use for my grant proposal itself, plus typed out a three page career summary of my life's work, plus designed a nice photo collage as my cover page to introduce my portfolio, and filled out the application...whoosh...
The bottom line is that since I've been really pushing myself and my buns to get a move on with this, I should be finished with it all in about another day or so-----Yipee!!!
As soon as I finish with my Guggenheim grant I'll be working on the New York Foundation of the Arts and the Siskind fellowships--those both are due in October but would like to get it done sooner, and should be so much easier to do, as I can apply directly on-line and I can take elements of the Guggenheim one and use more or less the same material...
Mmmm..I do seem to work best under pressure....LOL
So I just had to stop by now..tell you how I'm getting things done for my grant work,...and to hang out here for awhile

Thank you for the update. I'm glad you got to drop in today. It always helps to see those cat eyes. : )
Whenever something comes up that I know I need to do, it will bug me until I get it done. I procrastinate somtimes, but I don't do it without guilt! LOL, but what you are doing is so much more involving. I admire that you go for things like this grant. It shows you believe in your work, which I wholeheartedly think is excellent.

Yes, it felt good to drop by...I definitely needed a break since I was at it all last night into the small hours of the morning...got some sleep and pounced on it again...LOL--I may be finished long before I expected...I gave myself my own little deadline when to finish..and I'm pretty good at sticking to them....It won't be until April of next year though that I'll hear who the winners are of the grant...but I have other grants I'm going to go after as well...I don't give up easily--LOL

Wow, pyewacket, are you sure you're not Superwoman?LOL It's good that you have the drive and ambition to go after what you want in life. If you don't do it no one else will. I'm glad you are pulling it all together much quicker than you at first thought you could. Yes, pressure will usually bring out the best-or worst-in us.
