Yes, snakes have a tail. Because they are tetrapodes, the vertebral column has its fvive parts (cervical, thoracal, abdominal, sacral and caudal). Even if the snakes limbs are now vestigial, the caudal vertebrae are still different from the rest, so the caudal region is clearly differentiated.

Of course a snake has a rail. Why would you even question if they have one or not. I must tell you that they have a head at the other end of the body. Another interesting thing is that they do not have any arms or legs so they have to crawl or slither around to go any where.
