Is bad credit fair?

I dont think bad credit is fair!! You mess up and it haunts you for the rest of your life? Whats up with that?

I think bad credit can be fair if you max out credit cards with no real reason (unreasonable spending) or if you don't pay promptly on your loans or utility bills. But I think some bad credit is unfair, like supposedly your credit score goes down if too many lenders look at your credit score. That's what it's there for! For them to look! They say shop around for the best loan... but shopping around gives you bad credit? Come on! Also, closing an account (credit card or normal banking) lowers your credit score. Opening too many accounts in a short period of time also lowers your credit score. There are so many rules on credit that it's almost impossible for the average person to keep up with why their credit score is what it is unless it's immediately obvious (maxed out mulitple credit cards etc.)
