I think a true friend is one who is understanding, compassionate, supportive, loves unconditionally and is accepting of us flaws and all.

I think to be a true friend one should need to be honest and sincere. Friends trust each other to help them in difficult situations. Also a good friend knows how to listen, you need to not only hear what the other person is saying, but you will need to offer feedback and assurance that you actually understand what your friend is saying. :-)

you have to have a good heart and understanding, not selfish and caring.

a true friend is one who is honest to himself and to you. from there you can go a long way.
