Persons vs. Manifestation

I had a question on another forum of what is the difference between saying Persons for the Father, Son and Holy Spirit or saying Manifestations.
I believe in the Trinity concept, although the word is not used in the bible. However there is much debate because some denominations use "Manifestations" and others say "Persons". I really don't understand the big fuss since the word Trinity isn't in the bible, how can you declare that the Father, the Son and Holy Spirit be called 'Persons' or 'Manifestations'? Why can't He just be who He is?
We know He is one, because in Genesis 1:26, it reads "Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth."
So hear you see that God said, "Our" which is to include God the Father, God the Son of God, and God the Holy Spirit. And it says in verse 27, "So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them."
When it says that God created man in His own image, God created man to be one. You see male and female is considered just man. And when a man leaves his family to be joined to his wife, they become one. Just like the Father, the Son and Holy Spirit are one.
So what do you think?
