How many poeple use ebay? It is a great opportunity to make some extra money, but does anyone know what to sell on ebay to make a living off of. I have been a member with ebay for a little over a year. I started out as a buyer and now I'm a seller. I sell many things, but it just dosen't seem like I'm making anything. I feel like I'm wasting alot of money. Is there anyone out there that can give me some ideas, beside saying "anything, one mans junk is another man's treasure."?

i know some antique dealers that sell on ebay and well, ebay is not the greatest money maker in the world. in fact, studies show that only about 40% of internet users search for items on ebay. that being said, i certainly havent found the secret for success on ebay but there are many books in print on selling on ebay (some are available at your local library) i would suggest you check em out!

I have used ebay a lot in the past year, i have sold nearly 15 items and have bought about 20. Ebay is one of my favorite auction site's. Sometimes you get items really cheap and that's what i like about it.

I have a sold a few items on ebay, but it really is hit and miss. It takes a lot of research to see what is selling, and ebay does charge a lot of fees.

It really IS anything though...I mean you can find some GREAT deals on things from yard sales and flea markets and if you KNOW what you are doing you can make a killing on Ebay selling what you find....My husbands co-workers wife pulls in $40 000 a YR doing Ebay resales..she goes to yard sales and picks up antiques for cheap and clears out estates after ppl have passed on then goes sells the things she finds on Ebay BUT she has taken the time to learn what is an antique, how to identify them by their markings etc and so on....What she does, I'd love to get into when I have the time because you really can make a killing...

I sell items on ebay now and then, but sometimes it gets really frustrating. I have quite a few items set aside now to post and try to sell, but I haven't gotten around to taking the pictures yet. I find that if I re-list items that don't sell the first time around, they will often sell the next time so that is nice, but there is a lot of time involved in order to make selling on ebay profitable and time is not something I have a lot of right now unfortunately.

I am thinking of selling on ebay too but I am still doing research on what items to sell on ebay. Sometimes I can't help but wonder if it would all work because there is a lot of competition going on in ebay and for ebay, I think one has to sell something a little more unique to make money. Wish you good luck!

Ebay has a lot of competition so you really have to promote your items on other website also you have to sell them cheap. I have sold a couple of items nothing rave about, but I am still working it. I figure as long as I make a profit I am okay.

Instead of selling all sorts you could try picking 1 certain category that you know will sell well - i was in stationery but found many people weren't as in to stationery like i was so i have moved over to children's clothing. They seem to be selling quite well. Also, make sure you have an eBay store (even just a basic one like i have) - that way you can have things listed in you inventory & it will cost you a lot less to list your items - although, they can only be seen if someone goes in to your store. It's not a big deal though coz you just list a normal item but make it something fun so that people are inclined to visit your store to see what else you have available! I hope that helps you some. Good Luck!
