today is my mother's birthday, but...

i just give her a call to say 'happy birthday'. frankly, i want to buy a present to her, but i have no enough money, and i am not sure it will arrive at her birthday.
so how do you celebrate your mom's birthday if you live far away from her?

i live in another country, but its 3hrs of ride to n fro.
but still, i nvr goes back to celebrate wif her, unless i planned for it beforehand.
this yr, i plan to call her on her birthday, but was so forgetful!! i remembered i should call her when its orady 11.30pm! & she is an early sleeper. :(

there are a lot of things that you can do that cost little or no money. you could have cut out 365 squares of paper and put on each one of them something that is special about your mom or something that was memorable that you did...all you need is time for that one and a glass jar (decorated by you) which you can even get at a thrift store if you dont have one.
what about writing a poem for your mom? you could frame it in a dollar store frame if you wanted to.
