I found this highly interesting article on empaths.
It explains all about empaths.

I known for years that I'm an empath, even though I just learned a few months ago that there is an actual word for it.
I have always fought it, ignored it and just brushed it off. I wanted nothing to do with it. I mean, who wants to feel others people misery and depressions?
But I think I will just learn to embrace it and deal with it.
According to this article a lot of people are empaths, it's in our nature, but some people are more sensitive then others.
There is also an article about HSP's (Highly Sensitive Person), which is basically the same thing.

I know for some people that might be hard to believe, they will probably fall of their chairs laughing when they read this, but I hate conflict and confrontation. I often take that road though, I think, because it seems preferable to diving into somebodies psyche and might find something that is hard to deal with.
I can stand next to a person I have never met and talk to them and they can be as sweet as pie to me, but I can instantly tell if they are sincere or not. I often ignore that though, because it's not a nice feeling to know someone is buttering you up when in reality they loathe you.
I think I will do a bit more research in the subject to learn how to all deal with it better.
A lot in that article falls true for me. I love my solitude and prefer to be alone to being in a crowd.
When I walk into a room where there are issues, it's like walking into a wall for me.
I wake up in the morning and I can instantly sense what kind of mood my hubby is in even before I see his face.It goes on and on.....
I think a lot of people are HSP or empaths and have no clue or didn't know there was an actual word for it.
Are you HSP or an empath?

I really don´t know to talk about myself....maybe some others could qualify me better than myself, because maybe I wouldn´t be objective.
I think that empath is the mother of all relationships. it´s also good for jobs, as more companies are ready to employ people who have empathy with each other, because if the employees are doing right in that way, the company also get better results. So it´s a very important fact

I only just recently foudn out that I am an empath, but mine is a little different to yours. I don't sense emotions of others or tell what they are truly like, I actually feel the physical pain others feel, sometimes I inflict the pain upon myself accidentally. I am sensitive like this, I guess. I figured out I was indeed different when my friend got hit on the back and at the exact same time the force of the punch seemed to penetrate through me as well as her. It's not just through the pain of my friends that I feel this, it is through anything really, like if someone is cut on the TV I feel that etc.
I know now that I am an empath because my mother revealed to me, after I told her, that she was like this when she was younger, so obviously it was passed down. My sister, on the other hand, can tell what a person is really like and one of my friends can see the aura's of people, as in their characters and colour. What a strange world I live in, aye?
