How to control anxitey?

I am really having a problem with my anxiety. When i experience with a new thing my anxiety level increases. It increases to such an extent that i cant get my things worked out for some time. If the time is less then i dont mind but it lasts for about 15min to half an hour. So in that time i cant think of anything other. So its becoming a problem to me. One of my friend told me a techqunie to control the anxiety , by holding a particular spot near the wrist. Due to that i can come to normal with in 10 min. But i want to control in less than 5 min. SO if any one know any other techqunies plz tell me.

Oh yaaa? Even I am thinking of starting my meditation. And some say that by doing a bit warm up also they will control anxiety. Any way nice idea and thanks for your advice.

I also have anxiety attacks. It happens usually when I try something new and am not sure how to go about it, when I have to drive anywhere, or when I have to be somewhere alone. I have attacks when I want to ride my horse, which is something I love but don't want to get hurt doing. The only way I know to overcome this is, first through prayer, and second I just make myself do it. I know that once I'm in the saddle, I just am so happy and content, so I just do it. While I hate to drive, I need to so I just do it, sweaty palms and all. If you need therapy, go for it. If you need Jesus for help, ask Him. He is right there, willing and able to help you do what you need to do. He is my first choice. Many blessings!
