I have this aunt, who's a bit eccentric but she's a nice person really. My father invited her to come with us to a restaurant to celebrate something, I just don't remember what was the occassion.
When we were all seated and the waiter was waiting for our orders, she asked him if they serve iced tea.And he said yes. Then to our total shock, she sweetly smiled at him and told him that she'll have the iced tea but no ice!!!^_^
This was really true! And we were all silent for awhile even the waiter. And if you just can see his face, he was trying so hard not to laugh. But it was obvious he was really having a hard time to control himself. Then he hurriedly excused himself and made a small cough.
When he left, we all looked at my aunt. And she calmly asked us why we were all staring at her. Then I said, "You just asked for iced tea but no ice." And she thought about that for a few seconds and burst out laughing! Our eyes were watery for laughing so hard at that time that some customers were looking at us.
Oh, man!^_^

That's a good one, sometimes people do tend to tend to say things in an unconscious manner!
It's like your going for a "night swimming" on day time!
I'm not sure if ever I have done such as those, since I can't remember any at this very moment (mind's full of stuff which are non-sense). Hehe! But I always get to hear things like those, one buying a toothpaste then instead of saying the product they're mentioning the brands name and look for another brand.. (hope you get my point.)

Hi raijin. Sorry it took me days to answer back. I've got lots of "competition" using this computer...I think I know what you mean. I've often heard other people say it like that. Actually, I have a friend who's fond of saying the word "Pampers" instead of diapers. Whenever we talk about our kids, she says this word. Before I thought, she uses Pampers for her kid. But then I soon realize that she uses that word in reference to any diaper..

In life, sometimes we are bound to come upon certain people who are quite weird or funny in their characters and behavior. I am quite enjoyed reading the story about your auntie's unique saying.
I did hear my uncle who used to tell me some old folk's saying in his dialed. He said "do not press other too harshly. Even one is hanging himself, he needs to breathe several times too."
He told me another one. "You can trust this honest chap. Even you ask him to carry the night soil, you can trust him. He would not even steal some to eat."

Hello Ikbooi. I'm glad you enjoyed that one. My aunt can be a natural comedian, without even trying to make an effort.
