Do you now or have in the past put your family aside for the one you loved?

Well, apparently everyone I've ever loved has been disliked by my family. Either that or they are just very supportive when the relationship breaks up. LOL! They always say, "I never liked him. He was no good for you." Ha! Ha! Ha!

LOL! Well did they scowl and avoid you whilest dating? I think my parents grew to be okay with my first boyfriend because I stood up for myself on the matter. But comparatively, they like this one much better!

You know, I was usually totally surprised when they would say they didn't like the guy. They always seemed very accepting and friendly with them. It is cool, promptwriter, to look back and realize how supportive they were. Of course, I did appreciate it at the time. But, now that I look back on it, I appreciate it even more.

It's nice to have a loving family that stands behind you when things go wrong.

oh, yeah - like every single person I've ever been with! My family doesn't like anyone I pick.... and yes, sometimes I have put someone else before my family, but then again, my family and I are not close at all.

I'm so sorry to hear that. I've got family that I don't associate with as well. You'll always have a friend here, dear.

My family never hated anyone too. If I loved someone, I'm sure they would also love them. It is our family's belief that personal feelings about love should be of ours, they should only give advise.

I never let a man bring me down. I am a free spirit and it is going to stay that way.

Yes I guess so, they never like my first love. I guess they thought I was too young, they never even knew him and didn't like him, which was really not fair.

Not really. If I didn't think my parents would like them, I usually wouldn't bring them around. I would just love them without my parents knowing! lol

I had a group of friends my parents didnt really like. I kept telling them that they were good people but they refused to believe me. One day I found out that this group of "friends" stole about 150 dollars from me. I guess it kind of taught me to trust my parent's insticts a little bit more.

Oh do I know that feeling. I had a similar experience. Parents have a way of knowing what's best for their kids, even if we don't think they do. LOL Thanks for the post.

Not aside, no. My first boyfriend and love... I had to tell my parents that I could not see him in the evenings if they felt like preventing me, but that they couldn't make me stop seeing him... Fortunately, they love my current boyfriend :)
