Is days of our lives going off the air? I was on a website and it said they were taking it off. Apparently nbc doesnt own days and i guess its costing them too much money. Has anyone else heard anything about this?

I've heard that they may not renew it next time. It sounds like NBC is wanting to get out of the soap business. I guess they aren't making enough money off them or something. It's a shame too, I have watched it for most of 35 years. i'll definitely miss it.

Yeah i will definitely miss it too if they decide to take it off. Its a great show. I can understand why they are taking passions off nbc though. Its ratings are horrible! They are always really low and last, behind all the other soaps.

no but if days would just move their story lines along and come up with more exciting stuff they would have better ratings and wouldn't be considering canceling them, but that is just my opinion.

I guess that could be part of it. I dont really know. I will have to find the website i found this info on and post it for everyone to see. Then maybe we will know if its legit information or not.

this is wut i found... Word is that NBC feels that the licensing fee it pays to the production company is too high (based on the show's ratings). If a lower fee can't be negotiated, the series may end at the end. One source has said that the current contract runs until 2009 but there is a clause in it that would allow NBC to terminate the show as early as the Spring of 2007.

Let me find a petition to save Days now!! It is my favorite and my ONLY daytime drama I watch anymore. Please say it isn't so.

Yes, hopefully we can or someone can find a petition. I hate the fact that days may be taken off. I know its also the only thing i watch now.
