Welcome to September. Yes September, when children return to school, when days get shorter, when the smell of fall fills the air. Part of me feels sad that summer is over, yet I know that its time to move on, to embrace another season, to take another fresh outlook on life. For some, there will be other changes, perhaps your son or daughter is leaving home for the first time, and there's an emptiness in the house that wasn't there before. Even your toddler going of to preschool, leaves you knowing that nothing will be the same anymore. For others, these things were many years ago, and their thoughts have moved on to other happenings. As we prepare to greet a new season, may we do so with happy memories of the past, and a lively hope for the future. Blessings my friends.

Hi Pose123,
Even though summer is my favorite season, I think that change is good and I do like it. Like the changes coming soon will be pumpkins, pretty leaves, cool crisp air and bonfires with roasting marshmellows.. This is also why I love where I live, the seasons, once in full swing are so special in their own way..

Well that is indeed a beautiful post my friend, and I wish all the best to you too. I am not an Autumn lover myself - I love the colours, but I find it very depresing. I love Winter, but in my view, Autumn is basically just about things dying and shrivelling up, and it depresses me. Give me Spring anytime - fresh greem grass, Spring flowers, and new beginnings:-))

On the whole, I must confess that I rather like the passing of the seasons. I used to live in a very southern climate, where it was always either "hot" or "hotter." Around here (western Washington state) there are distinct changes, as the year rolls along. These days it is blackberry season around here-- time for canning, jam and freezing... in a matter of weeks, the leaves will gradually start turning, and we'll see the first frosts.
Even when I have fond memories of seasons past, I tend to be quite forward looking, with some anticipation of what lies ahead.

in envy you for having four seasons in your country and experiencing them all. well, here in our country we only have wet and dry season. though it is just bothering that though we are supposed to be in wet season which means rainy, occasionally we should be having typhoons (though we don't want that) but our season right now seems to be dry season. hot and sunny weather and seldom rains. well, they say it is because of the global warming. anyways, the coming of new season is indeed exciting and is to look forward. why are we affected by these change of seasons in terms of excitement and activities to do? well, whatever season we are in, indeed life is full of beautiful things to look forward to.

I love september, there's a certain smell in the air. You can just taste the impending end of summer. For me it's almost like the smell of a bakery. Also fall is my favourite of the seasons, what's not to like, sweater weather the leaves changing colour, it's like walking in your favourite water colour painting. September to me is like a new life forming.

Thank you for the kind wishes, and may GOD bless you abundantly.
Changes are such a part of life, as a senior citizen I have seen so many changes. Some for the good, some for the bad, but most of them more a case of what I make of them.
We have entered a new season in our household, but it is really just a revisit to an old one with new players. We now have a 19 year old grandson living with us. We are again going through the same discussions and decisions we went through with his father when Dad was his age. But there are changes of course. This time around we have been through it before. We are less intense, we are more ready to see the humor. It is really fun having a young person whirling through the house again. Seasons, changes, they are always new, but in a way they are always old.

Hi wifeofharvey, Thank you for adding to this discussion. I'm sure it feels great having a young person in the house again. I congratulate you on being less tense, and more ready to see the humor. It comes from experience, but unfortunately not to everyone. Blessings.

The fall and the spring are my favorite times, mostly because of the weather, but yes... they are seasons of renewal and change. Winter and summer feel static and stagnant after a while... "my" seasons promise opportunities to feel better, to do more, to plan and create.
Thank you for getting my attention about it being September... I feel a change in my attitude already!
