I must be a zombie right now or crazy for lack of sleep, but out of (cant even find the term for it), regarding the experiment someone just conducted regarding continuing a discussion for as long as possible, if it would earn more. What if though, for every discussion started, mylot allots $1. This is then divided into the number of people that posted/replied with those that have been marked as best response or positive rating gets higher pay for the reply? Right now, all that really seems to be is that no one truly knows how the earnings are done exactly. Plus, most people here have more fun posting and talking among friends here that the money really isnt the main factor of being here. Food for thought....

I understand the point you are trying to make but your $1 per discussion idea is seriously flawed. If that were the case, then a discussion which only received one response would earn the user the entire dollar. Most discussions only getone response for a very good reasonand the response wouldn't need to be good under those circumstances. On the other hand a high quality discussion that had 100 responses would earn each person just 1 cent regardless of their response. I think we could all agree that a quality response can get 4-5 cents, so for our $1 per discussion to be a good thing we would all have to hope for less than 20 responses perdiscussion. I don't think that would be a positive goal for a "discussion community".
