Fishing!
I find that going fishing works to relieve stress on two levels. First, you're usually away from home, enjoying some nice scenery and fresh air. Second, you're occupied by setting up your tackle etc, then by waiting in anticipation of feeling the line tug or seeing the float dissapear. Because you're concentrating on the relatively simple task in hand, you seem to completely forget about everything else.

Fishing can be as complicated or as simple as you want it to be. Wherever you live, there are bound to be some guys who are into fishing. I bet some of your neighbours or relatives like it, and most are happy to take you along and teach you.
Even alone, you can find enough info from the internet to get started and just practice.

firstly pray and its better if there are lots of people. i can go for a walk and if that not too good be by my self. eat and ice cream. think "let it be man , to each one his own, forget it". take a shower, believe me that helps. read some hing nice, i go to a street full of books and get the ones that can make me grow better and feel wonder ful with the real positivity.play with kids. play with animals. and i also tell my self no matter what i am going to be independent in my soul and be fresh always inside, no matter what people do, i have to be fresh. freshness helps.
love, apple.

the pray action is something intimate and it doesn't matter who is around... or that is what I think... but cos of your response I remembered that one time... a long time ago I met a couple old monks... I was far away from home, visiting some monasteries... now these monks where so modest, docile and humble that they just radiate happiness... it was like I forgot about anything and I was just at peace... superb feeling:)
thanks for shearing;)

I make it a point to actually get away if I can help it, even if it's for a few hours and it's only to do something simple like shop, window shop or eat out. Anything helps especially when you're under a lot of stress. It's best to try and put that sort of thing behind you for a few hours and to focus your attention on something else. So really, I'll engage in anything that let's me put my problems behind me for a few hours.

if i want to forget something, like anger or frustrations or boredome, i'd have a dvd marathon. ^__^ i'd watch movies and maybe some series the whole day and ignore everyone in our house. but if i cant ignore them and they're getting into my nerves, i'd go out and surf the net on internet cafes or go to the mall and shop. ^__^;;

I don't do much. I am perfectly content to get away by listening to music, writing, or reading. I do like to be by myself when I am feeling stressed, but I'm married and talking to my hubby helps too. It's nice to be able to cut up and laugh with my mom or sister too.

first of all should want to to alone
secondly will like to lie down with a good pillar resting my back and spine.
thirdly I take the day's paper and browse all the interesting topics of my likings...
forthly see whether I am full(not hungry)
and drink lots and lots of water.
fifthly will take a good nap.... when you get up feel fresh..... do not force yourself to wake up ..
and a theme music in a low volume is an added flavour

Just pray. Let the Lord run your life. Then have a very very good sleep in a quiet place.

mmmm regarding the place, my favorite place to remove problems is my bathrooms. I like locking myself in the bathrooms after fighting or stress because nobody will ask me what I am doing in my bathrooms.. So I'll have full privacy to think or to cry..
Other place is the beach. I live near the beach so if I am too stressful I'll just walk to the beach..

For me, there are two or three ways of relieving stress. One is getting together with close friends and chatting. Another is to sit alone and listen to music and the third and most effective way is to meditate. I can actually feel all the tension oozing away. Last evening itself, my team was working against a deadline. I work for a daily newspaper so you can imagine the stress level. On top of it, on Saturdays, we bring out two editions as we are not working on Sundays. Moreover, the department head had an off and due to the stress, there was a lot of bickering within the team-members too. it was like crazy. i got over at 10pm by which time I was literally in tears. Thankfully, my husband took me to my parents' place where I poured my heart out and felt better. This morning, I prayed very sincerely. Music is a nice way to unwind too, especially instrumental. You can also go for a short getaway to a nice, quiet place with someone close. Its a good way to forget your worries for a while
