They did a spot on the Sunday Morning show today about the success of Southwestern Airlines. The airline has been in business for 34 years without experiencing any of the problems that seem to have plagued the other major airlines. After viewing the story, I would attribute their success to the camaraderie between the employees and management; the family-like atmosphere; and the genuine affection among them all. With the approaching retirement of its two founders, the airline, hopefully, will not veer from the steady path that it has been on.

I am pretty sure I have seen a lot about Soutwest Airlines on a tv show that we get here in the uk! If it is the same company I know what you mean about affection and carmaraderie between management and staff! They seem to have team building and social events regularly! xxx

I almost always fly southwest. They are almost never late. The on board staff is friendly and often funny. I have always been treated with kindness and respect when flying their airline. Their fares are usually cheap as well. I hope they keep up the good work, they should be an example for the other airlines out there.
