The star rating is generated by other mylot members. If a lot of people mark you (-) your star rating will go down. Your responses may be as good as before or better, it is just that some people don't agree with you or don't like what you said and gave you a negative rating. I know, I went from an 8 to a 6.

I hear ya, Lindalinda. It's too bad when people give negative ratings just for not agreeing with what you said. I try and rate people's posts based on how well they've expressed themselves and how well thought out their thoughts were. I've given positive ratings to posts where I've not agreed with the point they were trying to make, but they make their point in an intelligent and respectful manner. THAT's what deserves positive ratings, not just agreeing with the original poster. :)

I do exactly the same. I have never rated anyone negatively just because they did not agree with me. The whole point of a discussion is to listen to different opinions.

Yeah it means your posts have been marked with a "-". But as fast as that star drops it can raise again. So don't take it to heart. I reckon you may want to look at your posts and figure out where you can make changes. My star is like a yo-yo and the rate has been as low as an 8 and high as a 10 and back again.

Hey Sunshine,
What puzzles me in my case is that I had a drop at least 3 months ago when I started a discussion that turned out to be unpopular. Since then my star has not risen even though I have only posted what I think are positive responses and not started controversial discussions. So I think the star drops fast but rises slowly. In any case it is not all that important to me.

Well, those numbers in our colored stars called our Star Ratings and better yet, our REPUTATION here.
Our stars represents how good responser we are here in Mylot.
If you've got 10 on ur star then it means that you're really doing good in here.
As our Star Rating here is going up whenever our responses marked as "Best response".
But whenever our responses here was voted low or even chose as abuse, it affects our Star Rating here somehow.
