WWE Drug Shake-up

It seems that the WWE has bowed to mounting pressure and suspended 10 wrestlers for buying forbidden drugs over the internet AFTER they instituted the new policy. This can only be a good thing, in my opinion, because the problem has gotten way out of control. It's about time this issue was addressed.

Its uknown who the stars are, though some big names have been brought up, including Booker T and Johnny Morrison. Though I'm personally failing to see how this is a good thing. Not trying to sound offensive, but I don't think it is. I've been thinking about this all day. It seems to me WWE superstars need to take steroids, painkillers, or something to surive the workload they're forced to endure. Think about it, they are required to work year around in a hostile job, with little break. They are expected to keep in shape, looking bigger than live, yet they have little time to go to the gym. How do you expect them to keep up with that? Not to mention the pain that comes with the job, I'd say the media, congress, and everyone else needs to be more lenient. These guys are under more pressure than legimate atheletes, and are now under even more pressure. I think to a certain extent they should be allowed some leeway, but thats just my opinion. Maybe I'm wrong.

I completely agree. We look up so much to our favorite athletes, and that's exactly what wrestlers are, athletes, and I don't care if people agree with that or not, because I believe in that. But sometimes we forget what they have to put their bodies through to get there and entertain us everyday, and I'm not talking about taking steroids but just the regular wear and tear of wrestling even though haters say it's all "fake" it's still a level of athleticism and bodies do get hurt. I agree that these wrestlers who I love should be treated better and get the same benefits anyone in a regular job gets, including time off, they travel all over the country the whole year. I can't imagine how tiring that must already be, and then to get in the ring, and show such energy, that takes a lot. No wonder they turn to steroids, not that I condone that in any way. I'm just saying that if there are any users then they should be helped effectively, physically and mentally, by the organization. A time off would definitely take some pressure off them, where they can spend some quality time with their family and friends too.

Well, it's true, the original post did seem different from what you were trying to say. But that's clear now, I understand what you mean, and I like your idea too. I think if each brand has an off season while the other two are running then the fans won't feel left out and the wrestlers will all get a chance to take some well-deserved time off. Well, hopefully WWE will realize that soon enough. After all what's a six week hiatus, it's nothing, I mean at least that should be the minimum. Actually now that I re-read your original response, it seems to make sense and what you were trying to say is more apparent now.

Yeah I agree it's about time. I am just a but surprised by it being just 10. Were any of the 10 the big stars or are they just a group of some of the unknown wrestlers?

I counted at least 6 big names, sunshinecup. You will know by their sudden absence. One was Edge.
