Have you ever gotten lost on the Internet?

Last night, I had a few spare hours online after my daughter went to sleep. And, instead of doing the work that I've been promising myself I would get completed, I ended up goofing around instead. For some reason, I turned on my Internet radio player and listened to music and watched videos for hours. I just couldn't bring myself to get any work done. I felt lost! But, I didn't care. It was so much fun. I kept telling myself to get to work, but I just couldn't do it. I'm not sure what would compel me to be so lazy. Ordinarily, I'm a work-a-holic and can't wait to get to work, but not last night. But, today I am feeling much better and posting more online. In fact, I finally updated my beauty blog with new articles. And, that's a task I've been putting off for several months. So, I guess the mini-vacation helped to recharge my batteries. So, have you ever gotten lost on the Internet and totally couldn't find your way back to the project you were working on? When was the last time you totally slacked off work either online or offline and had a good time, just doing something you liked?

Hello beautyqueen26, Unfortunately, I am not that workaholic *laughs* I always find 'reason' to be lazy or just to do something different from my usual daily routines. There are time when I just feel like doing nothing and spend time surfing the net for no reason or lazying around the house without purpose *smiles* I bet by doing so once awhile can recharge my energy level to be more hardworking.

Sometimes as a mom, I find that I go through spaces of time when I am the same way. Sometimes I just laze around the house for a couple weeks and do nothing at all, except the basic housecleaning and taking care of my child. I feel so lazy and useless during those times since I am not contributing to our household income. Then the feeling passes, and I get back online and start posting again. My best month so far was nearly $70.00 on My Lot. It's not much for someone who has a paying job. But, since I am here at the house all the time and don't have a regular job, it's more than enough to supplement my spouses income. And, it's lots of fun too.

Hello beautyqueen, Honestly speaking, I envy you. I don't expect to much in life and if you ask what I really wish to be, the answer is simple : I want to be a full time housewife *smiles* I love to be around my family and taking care every single thing that related to them. You are lucky that you can just work at home and taking care of your family at the same time. It is not that easy. Unfortunately for me, I still have to work and even though I love to be just at home, I don't think I am a type of person who like to depend on my husband. So, I still need to work to earn. I am not good at doing what you are doing and I can't think of anything that I can do while at home instead of taking care of the family *laughs* Well, you are really lucky. It is a surprise to hear that you are able to get $70 from My Lot. That is a good money for me. It helps to contribute to the family needs. Wish you more good luck in future! *smiles*

Oh right, I slack off once in awhile to get a balance of life. I usually work online a lot during the weekdays and then during the weekdays, unless it's something important or I want to release something soon, otherwise I would have those days off. Sometimes, I work too much on my projects that it's hard not to go into the projects when I am on the computer. And very often, I don't know what to browse online if I am not working on my stuff *laughs*.

Been there! Sometimes I will think of things I want to get done online and then email ideas to myself. And, then when I am not able to access my Gmail or Yahoo account where I keep my ideas, I am totally lost.

I think we all need a break at times. I stop myself to play a game online or like you I watch music videos.

I get lost everyday on the net- It’s fun to wander around and not do what you are supposed to be doing- I sometimes pop on while I’m at work- and surf- then reality hits- you are at work- get back to work- LOL

Yes, I have gotten lost on the Internet and totally couldn't find my way back to what I'm working on. I can't remember the last time I had slacked off work, but I remember what happened. I had lunchout that day with a customer and brought some of my office friends, we were supposed to be back at the office after an hour but decided to spend more, after the customer had left, just roaming around the mall window shopping. ;-)

I'm a college student, now it's the end of my summer holiday. I was goofing around on the Internet all along. I didn't play any online games, watch videos or listen to music. I didn't have my own blog, either. So, I got nothing from the web and left nothing, it's frustrating. I really felt lost! I also couldn't bring myself to my study, even I was offline.

Perhaps this is the brains way of forcing you to take a holiday. Since I work at home and am a full time mom, there is no such thing as getting a day off. So, sometimes my brain just refuses to work. And, since I refuse to allow that to happen for long or take a break, it has learned to sabotage me by bringing up attractive distractions. And, then I get distracted into watching videos or aimlessly chatting online. Perhaps I will put the video player on my My Lot profile and you will see how much fun it is. Then you can drop by when you want to relax and get a break from studies. Best of luck with your studies. I am sure you will do well once you get back into the swing of things.

Like gravitational pull, the internet has some magnetic attraction and no one can define alpha and omega in computer internet. Once get in, getting out is difficult.

Yes this happens to me a lot of time. I added that I will do the work which was very important but somehow time went by and in the end the voice left unfinished because I passed the time surfing on the net and not doing the work. It happens a lot of applying the and so now I am trying to control it by not using the Internet when I have some important work to do. And I think intended as a very addictive thing. It has a lot of positives but also it has a lot of negatives s ando it is basically how we want to use it.

When i was studying for my masters degree, i used to open the computer every night in order to work on projects or reports i needed to submit to my professor.. At the same time, i also get myself online in order to research on topics which would be added to my reports. However, there are times that like you, i get engrossed with reading my emails and chatting, that i had totally forgotten about doing my projects and reports! So that's it, if ever i do my reports.. i do not tempt myself in getting online anymore so that i could finish my work as scheduled.:-)

I remember trying to do term papers, and needing to get some research online. Oh but when I starting looking, I'd find one thing after another that I wanted to look at, and after an hour I would forget why I came to the internet in the first place.

Absolutely, heck I do it at least a couple of times a week on myLot alone. It's an excuse not to do dishes or put off the laundry or doing something else I know I'm supposed to be doing. I tend to be a workaholic too when I've got a project going.. I'll work for 24 straight hours to get it done if it's possible. Including the internet, particularly myLot. I set goals every day on here to answer X amount of questions or start and X number of discussions and I'll stay on until I accomplish it. I get overly focused sometimes, much to hubby's dismay when he gets neglected for a couple of days. But there are times when I'll get online and just stop working and get distracted for awhile. I think it's our brain's way of telling us to slow down a bit. :D

There's so much to do on the internet..and it's fun! I do get lazy in completing my jobs too...But recently, I realised . That shouldn't be. Now I am trying to control myself. Have a scheduled browsing ,etc. it's hard to keep up with it. I just pray hard that it will make a change on me. And I know it will.

I know exactly what you mean. I do that everyday lol! I tell myself I'll do one thing or another but I get sidetracked and forget all about the original plan like 5 minutes later. I cannot stand when that happens.

Getting "lost" on the internet is and everyday occurance with me. Its how I relax and get my mind to slow down enough to go to sleep. My poor dog knows that its bedtime when I go and get on the computer every night lol.
