Im a first time mom, when i was still pregnant i had lots of worries about my baby. But everythings okay now that i have a little boy with me. It was about 26 weeks or about 6 months when i had my first ultrasound. Basically the doctor and i was unsure of the baby's exact date of delivery so i really need an ultrasound. But comes with is the discovery of my baby's gender. I had this strong feeling that im having a girl... but to my and my bestfrieds' surprise, we discovered im having a boy! I could not be disappointed could i'd love my baby either he/or she comes out. How about you? when did you learn about your baby's gender?

i have four kids and i only knew their gender the day they were born. it is exciting for me to know that only if they are born already.

wow there's the element of surprise! i would have liked that but my doctor insisted to have the ultrasound so i can plann for my deliver, not just thinking about baby clothes and colors but also if im gonna be on normal delivery or if i'd have a c-section.. im not well off and as a single pregnant woman then, i alone will be shouldering the expenses, so i had to know if im gonna need more than what i earn and prepare for the bills.

i can understand that, you can buy universal colors such as yellows and greens. you can also make the doctor check what is the status of the baby inside your tummy but tell your doc to keep the gender secret.... well that is if you are willing to wait. goodluck kuting

where i love i had a scan at 13 weeks and then again at 19 weeks, at the 19 week scan they could tell the babys gender but when i asked tey said they could not tell me cause baby had legs crossed lol they tried to get me to shake and wiggle around but no baby would not move, so i never found out till baby was born, i had a son and he is three now and love him to bits, but to me i would not of cared what i had as long as everything was fine

hi! that was fun.. i remember being asked by my doctor who also made the ultrasound when i was 6months to walk around and move around a bit coz she cant still be sure about the baby's gender. although she guessing that he's a boy, we also wanted to see his face which my baby really was hiding. yes it was a baby boy alright but at that time we really didnt see his face, and when i had my last ultrasound a week before i gave birth, we was still hiding his face! my baby really wanted to surprise me and wow he's such good looking baby boy!

We tried to find out numerous times without any luck :) Our baby was always facing the wrong way or all scrunched up so you couldn't see anything. We ended up paying for an extra scan to find out as we were redecorating & thought we'd like to know so we could go with a certain colour scheme. I think we were 26 1/2 weeks when we had the extra scan done & the sonographer couldn't be 100% sure because again, our baby was all scrunched up & it was very hard to see anything. She said she was pretty sure it was a girl - so we went with that (they know what they're looking for so she was going to be more than likely right anyway) & then we ended up with a girl! Everything worked out well!

With my first (who is 21 now), I never did. I never even had an ultrasound at all. He was a healthy 8 pound 8 ounce boy and I was thrilled (although I wanted a girl. That feeling passed the second I saw my baby.). With my second, who will be 17 soon, I had a different doctor and I knew at 18 weeks I was having a boy. I wanted a girl again but was thrilled to see that little guy wiggling around. I had a second sono at about 30 weeks because we believed he was going to go over 10 pounds. He ended up at 8 pounds 6 ounces but did come 12 days early. I liked knowing what the gender was. I could buy the right colors, decorate the room, get to know my baby boy while he was still inside me, and even name him. I didn't have that with my first although I sang the Irish song "Danny Boy" hundreds of times for no reason while I was pregnant. His name is Daniel. Ha. Maybe I DID know what gender he was after all.

wow! maybe that was your instinct telling you about the babe inside you. i wasnt really after being sure bout the colors or things that i should buy, i was more concernd about the bills if i needed a c-section. so after knowing that he's positioned for natural birth i was really thankful! thanks a lot for the response ma'am!
