I emailed NBC to ask if Days of our Lives is really going to cancel, and if they are not renewing their contract. I will let you know if and when I hear anything. Please if anyone has any information about this or a petition with a legitmate link, please share it with us.

I wasn't a fan of Passions either, but at least the fans can still see it on Direct TV. NBC sent me a system generated email saying virtually nothing and included a non working link to a FAQ to see if my question could be answered there.

If NBC is doing this I hope ABC doesn't get any ideas! I would be lost without All My Children and General Hospital lol.

I hope not! I love this show- I can't imagine it being cancelled- It's one that has been on forever- and it's much better than Passions- I wonder what they are thinking? This is the first I've heard of it!

I read that it is unlikely that it will be on past 2009. So, we still have more time on that show.

I'm pretty sure it's just Passions that will no longer be on NBC (they did get picked up by Direct TV)

Hi applsofgld,
This is an interesting topic, since I've been wondering the same thing myself. I did read (online, I believe) that the Day's ratings have dropped, and changes are being made to try to give them a boost.
When I saw them bringing back characters from years ago, such as Anna, Stefano, Tony, Rolf, Adrienne, Kayla, Steve, etc., I had my own suspicions. Also, the fact that they're 'finally' delving into the Dimera/Brady vendetta, and trying to resolve it, is fascinating. If Days were really to end, those who care about the show, at the production level etc. would want a decent amount of time to end things satisfactorily for the viewers, as well as themselves. Since they're putting so much into the vendetta storyline now, I think they're looking at a possible ending, and want it to go out in style. I've watched it since the 80's, with a few breaks along the way, and this is the first time they've ever seriously done a vendetta storyline like this. Please let us know what you find out.

Days of our lives is one of the longest running soap opras I do not think they would cancel it. I do not watch it but I still do not think it would be canceled.
I only watch one soap and that is the Young and the Restless. I use to watch All my children, ONe life to live and General Hospital but I do not watch any of them any more. I stoped when I went to work full time days. I have not gotten back into them since I have been home.
