What's the longest you've gone before changing your sheets?

I think here at Alex's place, the longest we've gone is maybe... 3 - 3 1/2 months or so... just because we didn't feel the need to wash them because they weren't dirty =P
I suppose that's pretty gross, but they're clean and fresh and wonderful now =]
Even if they have various stains (especially my pillow from last time I dyed my hair =/).
Back when I lived at home, dad changed the sheets every week or fortnight.

I wear one of daniel's old t-shirts if I dye my hair. And wait till it drys - mostly - I have stained a few pillowcases in my time! I don't change ours as often as we should. Even after Anatomy and Physiology class where my teacher Traci told us whats in our sheets that we can't actually see. Actually what's yuckier is whats on hotel sheets - especially the comforter which just isn't cleaned as often.
You don't have allergies do you?

Nope, No allergies for Gemila =D
Yeah, the thought of hotel sheets would make me slightly nauseous if I ever let myself think about it =P
The comment below: Alex's bed has always smelt like him, because I don't know how long it was since it had been washed when I first moved in. Probably a few times in the years we've been friends =P
I love the smell of it, it feels comfortable and safe.
When Frankie, my best friend, comes around, she always snuggles into my pillow because it smells like me.
(I suppose this relates to giving up your sense of smell for world Peace. thinking about it now, it would be damn hard)

I hope I won't embarrass myself with this one. LOL but normally, I change my bedclothes after 3 to 4 months. ^__^;; and even longer. LOL nobody sleeps on my bed and uses my pillow other than me and it really takes a long time before it gets dirty and all. after a long time it would still smell just as how I do,LOL and I don't get tired smelling myself. LOL

you just grossed me out there. ^.^;; i think i've read that somewhere. and i didnt do anything at all too. LOL those are just huge information for over-acting, paranoid, OC people who thinks they are super-clean but in fact, they arent. ^__^;; and i've learned from others' experiences that too much cleanliness can hurt too. but hey, for my peace of mind, i'll shorten that 3-4 months to 1-2 months. LOL

I've heard that too much cleanliness has a negative effect as well. A lot of kids are getting so protected, with antibacterial hand soap and such that their immune systems never learn to fight things off and in fact these hand soaps and lotions take off good bacteria. The best thing is good old fashioned soap. I don't do all that and very very rarely get sick. I got a cold in 2005 but it was after an infiltration I received from donating blood, I think that my immune system was down.
On the other side of the coin, I've seen grown women - some of whom were research lab workers, use the bathroom - for one and two and NOT wash their hands. At school there were medical lab students as well and they did swabs of doorknobs and key board and eww if there wasn't the yuckiest things on them, feces, strep, semen. Yucksters.

I can go awhile as well. But if you think your sheets are clean think again, lots of critters and such will take up residence in the sheets of even the cleanest person...dust mites for instance, like to take up residence in bedding just inches from your mouth and nose as you sleep. What article notes that A dust mite is actually a mite that lives inside of the dust that is found within your home and that humans can easily inhale the dust mites’ feces. It is interesting to note that there are approximately 40,000 dust mites per speck of dust. This usually includes warm, humid places such as beds, carpets, and upholstered furniture. These mites also live on the skin cells that people and their pets shed, and deposit their waste in all of the areas in which they gather. With this in mind, you can easily imagine just how many dust mite stools enter into your respiratory tract.
Nice huh? I learned yuckier things in anatomy and physiology class - including the nice things found in hotel rooms and on doorknobs and keyboards at an office.
Does this knowledge make me wash my sheets more than once every three or four weeks? Nope.

Apparently even acne is helped with clean sheets - look here: http://blog.worldvillage.com/family/change_your_pillowcase_to_stop_acne.html

I am the one's responsible for doing my dirty laundries, from clothes to beddings. So most of the times, I get to change it every week. Since I only have two pairs of bed-clothings, this is the least I could do.
The only time I haven't changed my beddings, was during the times I am out for a vacation.

Okay raijin - vacations don't count - and you can change them when you return!

I normally change our sheets every 2 weeks or so. Sometimes, it is closer to 3 weeks, though.
The longest I've ever gone, is probably right now. We moved in at the end of July, and today was the first time I changed the sheets. The reason was because I couldn't find any of the other sheets that fit our bed. They were all packed up. Today, I went ahead and stripped our bed, because I was tired of it. I had my husband wash and dry the sheets. I am getting ready to go upstairs and make my bed, so it will finally have clean sheets again! :)

I don't see that as counting. :) There's nothing like snuggling into soft soft fresh smelling sheets!

I think this happened about two months when i was really busy at work and i don't have time to clean the house or change sheets. But normally i would change sheets for 3-4 weeks.

I'm not that clean-nazi or clean freak. I usually change my bedsheet after one month or one month and a week.
I think the longest time I did not change my sheet would be three monhts and that is when I have this rough time at my former work that I can only lie on the bed for two hours and then work again. So I guess thats a good excuse hehehe.
