Common cold is one of the most irritating and frequently seen diseases. Unfortunately nom I'm suffering from one. Severe headache runny nose and to make things worse now chest conjestion also. I've heard that the best remedies for cold are simple methods at home rather that taking any medication. Can anyone of you tell me someway to get better. This thing is soo irritating.

Lemon, honey and garlic are things I use when I have a cold.
The juice of a lemon in a glass of warm water with enough honey to sweeten it up a bit makes me feel better in most cases.
As far as I know lemon increases body resistance, decreases toxidity and reduses the duration of the illness. I think this is partly because it's very rich in vitamin C.
Honey is said to have antiseptic and antibacterial properties, and have been used for coughs and sore throats for a long time, so can't be wrong to add some of it.
Garlic also contains antiseptic properties, but I don't like the taste too much so I use this mostly when I'm feeling really miserable.
Enough rest and water also usually works wonders.
Hope you get better soon.

Hi there. Personally, when I or anyone in my family have a cold or the starting of the influenza, I usually make a large jug of lemon, enough honey and crushed garlic with hot boiled water, wait for it too cool and simply drink it this usually does the trick, it breaks the fever... Well it fixes us up anyway, and we will always have it for those reasons...

I'm sorry to hear that, its really annoying. For me,the best remedies are enough sleep, dring water and fresh fruits(rich in vitamin c).By the way,you can try ginger soup. Its very simple to cook.Put sliced ginger in boiling water, then add some red sugar.Mix and drink it when it is still hot.I'm sure you would feel much better after that.
