Its only for 2 weeks, got cha didn't I. You all can't get rid of me, I would miss you guys. I am going to California with my mom. We are going to see her brother, my moms health is not so good lately and she can't travel by herself, so I am elected to go with her. I ask you all to pray for no earthquakes. hehe. Here is a nice story about my mom and her brother. My mom always knew she had a brother, her brother never knew he had sisters. His mom and dad divorced when he was young, he thought his dad had died. They share the same dad. My moms dad died when she was young, 5 yrs, old. So with that the family tie was cut off. About 6 yrs. ago my cousin was doing geneology on the internet, she put an inquiry out about some family members. My Uncle saw it and responded. He turned out to be my Uncle that never knew he had other family and my mom was able to find her brother. He is in his upper 80's and my mom is in her upper 60's. They have lots of years to catch up with. My mom has been out to see him 3 other times, this will be the forth time for her and the first time for me. My Uncle and I have got to know each other thru daily emails and several phone calls. I just thought I would share this story with you. If I get a chance while I am out there I will check in and say hi. He has a computer but I don't know how busy we will be. Take care everyone, see you all when I get back. I won't be leaving until tomorrow.

But unfortinatelly me and my brother do not communicate very much. We live in different countries and that is also a problem. We have very different views of life and he is 12 years older than me. So it is hard to communicate with a person who is totally different. We share our fathers genes but we do not have much in common.

That is great news!! Hope you and your Mother have a wonderful trip...and NO earthquakes. That is a really heart warming story of how your Mom and Uncle finally connected and have been reunited. Family ties are so important, so often they get lost over the years. Thanks for sharing with us! Godspeed until you're safe at home.

Thanks so much, what makes their meeting with each other even more special. It was just a couple of months after he lost a son and my mom lost a sister. When he found out he had a sister. His daughter said he cried, he said he lost a son and found a sister. I am realy looking forward to meeting them.

You certainly got me my dear friend. :-) Glad that you are not leaving for good. I hope that you and your mom have a nice time in California and hope the weather is nice while you are out there. That is nice of you to go with your mom. It is good that your mom and her brother finally know that they have a sibling.

Thanks so much, may the earth be still beneath my feet, haha. I like how you put that. I live in the midwest, I have felt earthquakes before. I don't want to feel anymore of them. After we get back my mom has to have heart surgery. A year ago she had a pace maker/defibulater put in. The doc had trouble with the third wire. Thats the most important one for her. They are going to have to go thru her ribs to get the third wire in. They have to spread her ribs apart to do it. The doc said go ahead with our plans and when we get back they will do the surgery. Huggs to you too, I know you have been having a tough time.

My Mom took my Grandmother up to Michigan to see her brother last year and it was something else. They hadn't seen each other in like 30 years and my Grandmother is in poor health so it really was great for her to be able to see him again. Also another brother that she had a falling out with some 15 years ago was finally found and she got to talk to him and make amends with him.
