Have you heard this saying that "the more you hate, the more you love". When i was still in school, my classmates and friends will tease me because i really avoid guys, and there is this one person who's courting me and he sometimes try to follow me so it would really irritate me, then my friends would tease me to this guy, saying the more you hate the more you love! and they will start giggling, then it will just annoy me more! i think it's not true cause i don't hate that guy i just don't like him. well, have anyone already tease you with this words also? that the more you hate the more you love? Do you believe that this is true?

I don't know if I believe that. My parents hate each other so much, and they seriously cannot get a long at all, I don't think they even ever loved each other.

I have never heard this statement before and don't believe that I can think of anything that would make this statement seem true . I don't believe that the more you hate something the more you will end up loving it . Either we don't like something or we do and in your case you don't even hate the guy . I would think they know this is upsetting you and they are just trying to pick on you . Don't give them any thought and tell this guy that if he doesn't stop then you may end up hating him .

There are times when one may appear to be the most irritated by the one that they actually do like. But, this is not always the case. As you said, you really do not like this guy.
The saying itself is confusing in that it is a total contradition. I know work is meant by it, I think, but there hast to be a clearer way of saying it.

It really depends because I have experience this feeling in highschool that I really like this guy but I myself is denying about it so that I won't get teased by my classmates, I do avoid him because when I am near him its really weird feeling though. I found out I just appreciate the guy it did not turn out that I love him more 'till I forget about him and the feeling of awkwardess when his around.
