What is the best way to make money out of blogging? / myLot

I am brand new to the concept of making money out of blogging. I have this week registered with a few sites, but thus far there has not been much activity. Has anyone here had any real luck at this?

I have made a little money, but most of my cash comes from writing web content articles. That's what I primarily do along with other freelance jobs such as copywriting and web design.
