Donating to a Good Cause

United States

I just finished watching a documentary about kids with AIDS in an African country called Swaziland. It was very saddening because people over there make on average $0.45 per day. Sometimes, the parents have died from AIDS and the oldest in the family(adolescents) are left to care for their younger siblings. The worst part is that these adolescents are being lured by older men just to put food in their bellies. Fifty-three percent(53%)of those age 15-23 are HIV positive. I immediately took out my wallet and gave a donation and I am challenging anyone who reads this to do the same or even better. It doesn't take much--anything helps. For more information go to http://www.dearfrancis.org. This is your chance to be selfless and do something to help prevent the spread of AIDS in this country. http://www.simpleknowledge.blogspot.com

last month, i went to a village in Lishu, China. there are lots of pupils without chances to go to school. as far as i know, some children lost their school just for lack of money. what a pity? who helps them?

Well, if you see the need to help someone then feel free to do so. Every little bit counts. We have free schools in the US and some still choice to send their children to private schools. So that is unfortunate. But you have to stand up for the cause and give to what you believe in. I just wanted others to be aware of the situation that was going on in Swaziland. I know that other countries are in just as worse conditions but God put it on my heart to help them. I can't help everyone but I always say if everyone was to give ten cents, fifty cents, two dollars, or whatever.

That's great, but I prefer to help people in my own country first. I am sorry for them, and the despicable condition they have been born into, however there are tons of people in America that need taken care of too. It is great that you found a cause that you believe in, and I wish that everyone here would do the same. No matter where you live or what you believe in, we all should donate time or money to something we feel strongly about! Even if you don't have the cash to donate, just getting the word out helps out too. Congratulations on your act of kindness, and may God bless you!

It is good to help your own first but its hard to believe that there are acts like that going on in the United States. We are one of the richest countries if not the richest. I am a participant of several charities in the US also. I feel that God blessed me so that I may bless others regardless of race, stature, country, etc. Thanks for the input.
