We call great persons as Learned Man.

If we don't regard the Society as a big school, yep, I do have known some people who've never gone to school but are quite some learned men/women. In the old ages in my place, quite some people didn't go to school at all, but would be taught by their own parents or something. And they will self learned some technologies though they are not that good at words. My grandma was a good instance for it, although she couldn't recognize many words, say, just could read her own name. She was quite a learned woman to teach her grandchilden to be a learned man. I think that there are such great persons but I don't think that I can recall any at the time being. You know, you don't have to really go to school to get learned. You can also study by yourself to gain as much knowledge as you can. Besides knowledge comes practice.

I know that are so many great people who had not gone to school, yet they commanded great respect and generally called as LEARNED MAN.
