Hi!
I am looking for follow Helium writers to share ideas and give and receive feed back.
I have ben trying to promote my writings on Yahoo answers and from my embryonic blog, though that is slow going. I also have been using the links at the botton of the Helium pages to promote my stuff on digg, myWeb, etc.
I have a few articles in the pipeline, some of them are quite long, and a few smaller ones near completion.
You can check out my articles by doing a search on the Helium site under my online ID
pablothehat
Any feedback would be most welcome.

Hello...I've been trying to log in at helium because I am interested to try and share ideas, but unfortunately I never succeeded in signing up. But I responded to this discussion hoping I'd finally will be able to join in through you. Ok, I'll give it a try; hopefully I'll have more time so that I can divide my time between mylotting and helium....more power.

Hi
what seems to be the problem when you try to register with Helium?
Does your location have access to Paypal and that sort of thing?
Or could it be your firewall that is stopping the registration process from going though?
Members can add you if you have a valid email address.
They send you an invite to become a writer at Helium, but if there is something blocking your access to the site for some reason, that method might not work either.

I have 24 articles at Helium. The money is slow, but it's ok with me. I just write when I see something I want to write about.
I just submit an article to AC, and they paid me $4.03 upfront. It makes me feel good since it's my very first article. Too bad you don't live in the US or else you could really make some money with them. I'll look in your writing at Helium after I post this.
Anyway, happy writing!

I have 27 articles on Helium at the last count, though I have several in the pipeline, I have been distracted lately by improving my profiles and blogs and joining other social network sites such as Facebook.
I agree that the pay from the articles on the site is slow, particularly when compared to another site I have contributed to, Ciao, who has paid me £13BP (26.26 USD) for 6 articles and the participation in about 12 surveys.
I haven't tried the AC site yet, but if they cannot process payments outside the US, I don't see any point for me to contribute.
Do you write under IcyCucky on Helium or have you a link on your myLOt home page and I will check out your articles?
;-D

I use different websites for different writing purposes. For Helium, I try and keep the articles shorter because I know that when people go to rate articles, they don't want to read too much. If you want to write a longer article, I suggest either writing for the Marketplace section or writing for Associated Content or Constant Content. That way you get the most bang for your buck, so to speak.
Here is the link to my page on Helium, where you can find some of the articles I have written:

My most popular articles lately have seemed to be about the Apple iPhone and cruising. Go figure. The only time I had an article featured on the front page was when I wrote one about beginning birdwatching. I can never guess what will be popular? Good luck with your writing, and remember for Helium, try and shorten up your articles a little. You have some very interesting topics!

Thanks for the friends invite. The only thing I wanted to add about the rating at Helium is that if you haven't written for awhile, it gets your articles in circulation (earning you $), so it is worthwile to read and rate when you can.

Yes rating. I did spend time rating others when I first joined, though at the moment I have neglected this side of Helium because I have been busy with my online profiles, blogs, downloading software, etc.
When things settle (ha!) I must spend more time doing some.
I have been looking at some of your posts, you do write on a broad spectume of subjects, very interesting. I look forward to reading your adult educations articles as I am a Further and Adult Education Teacher, well, qualified anyway, spent most of my time in residential child care!! Don't ask!
Glad you liked living in London. Not a place I have visited often, though I too worked there for a short while.
I prefer the country life on the borders of England and Wales, even find my hometown has now grown to a proportion that I find uncomfortable.
I haven't explored the Marketplace in Helium yet and given your advice, I shall have a look and see what it is about.
Constant Content I must admit, I find somewhat frustrating, trying to get a difinitive answer in why they reject articles. As I mentioned in a previous post, it can be the most small, overlooked typo, or grammatic problem, but do they point it out? No. Just some cryptic comment and then I spend several hours looking for the problem. By that time I usually have had enough.LOL
Just tell me what I missed!!
As for telling what is going to be popular, my huge article on Coleridge's The Rime of the Ancient Mariner is my second most popular article !!
Nice to meet you. I have added you to my pending friends list if that is ok?
