Exercise! When you exercise, you kick in your body's endorphines, which are mood elevators. Exercise is a remedy for depression!
Sunlight! Some people, especially during winter months, are affected by Seasonal Adjustment Disorder (SAD) and a full spectrum light is recommended if one can't get outside in the sunlight.
Do Something for someone else! Helping other people takes your attention from your own problems.

Yes, I agree that exercise and sunlight are very helpful! Also, I like the self-help book "Feeling Good" by David Burns. That's been a big help to me.

If you the time to do it, I would suggest you do some volunteer work. It not only helps those in need but it also gives the volunteers a different perspective of people far less fortunate than them and although it might be sad to see people suffering, you'll feel better knowing you made a difference and are not in their position.

A good remedy for depression is reaching out to a friend or someone you trust to talk to but the best person is talking to God about it. He will fix whatever problem you may have. Try him I know he will fix it. It might not be instant but he is always on time. Here is a link to

This may sound strange. But Crying.. Allow yourself to cry... This releases natural endomorphins after a really good hard cry, dry your eyes, and turn on a good comedy, or read jokes or something that will make you laugh so hard you can cry again increases endomorphins, go out for a run again does the same, :) After all that it should help you to feel a little better :) ....
You have many wonderful suggestions. Increases endomorphins not only does it cause you to feel better as it is a natural painkiller and stimulant, but it also helps you overall feel better.
Most people who result to self harm, find it so addicting because of the endomorphins by teaching yourself to cry when you need the natural release, to run and exercise can help build good natural habits, and also help ease depression.
There is also certain foods like Banannas, and turkey. That increase natural chemicals in the body to help as well. Do some good exercise then relax, watch a good movie, and eat a bananna or turkey. :)
