I have 3 best friends that I've known for about 10 or 11 years. We met in middle school and we are all now 24 yrs old. We do all kinds of stuff together and I will feel pretty bad if we weren't friends anymore. It would be weird not talking to them anymore or hanging out.

I have had the same best friend for 32 years... we met when our children were young and our husbands worked together. Our husbands are like brothers, and we all love each other. But we have had times when we weren't together for years at a time! We would all get so busy in our lives that we didn't even remember to call each other. The truly wonderful thing about a BEST friend is, you don't have to be together 24/7! If you are, you're not living your own lives! Try to keep the feeling that someday one of you will need to hear the other's voice... call sometimes just to chat for 10 minutes! That way you can show that you still care for your friend and are sending love and support even if you can't be together at this time! You may find over the years that you'll come back together.

i had a best friend before! we were like sisters... at least i thought so... well, we almost shared everything with each other... we were best friends since grade school... but now we aren't anymore... in our freshman year in college we actually took different courses and it was hard because we were always together... but still we always see each other. we would always eat lunch together and go home together... she would wait up for me... and i would also wait up for her... one day, her so called "older brother"(3yrs older) in an religious organization confessed that he actually liked her for years... well, i saw that little sparkle in his eyes when i first saw that guy! well, my friend here liked that guy too... so it was actually okay for me in the beginning... but then right at the middle of the 1st semester i felt that i was kind of being left out and that sometimes they would actually eat ahead of me... and i didn't like that because they would still come with me to lunch and watch me eat.. tell me? how that make me feel? then my so called best friend here promised us that we would never be left behind even though she would have a boy friend already... then at first it was okay for me but i decided to put a little distance to them and started to not come with them at lunch... but then they like didn't talked to me and then it was like one day a very big and hard wall was put up between me and my friend! and i didn't know why... cause i talked to her in a nice way that i wouldn't be coming with them at lunch cause i had made plans with my classmates... then it just happened... we aren't friends anymore... i don't understand her... throwing away all those years of friendship for that... i don't know... well, can't do anything about that anymore! well, i felt really sad for days and i felt really lonely but then i started to accept the reality that she didn't need me anymore and she have disposed of me after everything we've been through..it's sad but what can i do? but, i still have other best friends who haven't left me yet and other friends who care for me more that she "maybe" cared for me before... (n_n) hey? life will continue even though your best friend leaves you...

hey mclean_ashley!I have a bestfriend & I've known her since she's 17.The reason why I don't have a childhood bestfriend is because we kept on shifting a lot & the only place I stayed for more than 3 months is the place where I'm at now, since 17.I got to know my best friend at a matriculation college at 17.She was in a room opposite mine & the first time I met her,I knew she'd be my best friend & true friend forever ever.If one day she decides not to be my best friend anymore,I think I'd be very sad & probably be at my worst.Sigh.That sucks a lot!

My best friend and I met about 5 years ago and have been the closest of friends since then, and have gone through a lot together. I would be absolutely devastated and shocked if she decided that she would no longer be my friend. It would be heartbreaking and upsetting to say the least.
