Website or blog with donations

I have 3 blogs but I wouldn't dream of trying to get donations - I just don't think it is right. Why should people donate money to a blog. If people want to donate money, there are plenty of very worthwhile charities to give money to. It is just my opinion but I think it is totally wrong. I have seen a couple of blogs with donation buttons on and I think it is awful of people to do that.
