If you were in a political office, what type of changes would you make?

If you could get elected into politics, which office would you take and what changes would you make? And, what would you stand for?
As for me, I'd definitely work on making sure more people had free or cheap health care. Some US states already have free or low cost health care for poor citizens. However, individuals with too much income don't usually qualify for that. And, unfortunately, some of those same people can barely afford the basics in life. It's really not fair. So, that would be one of my major priorities. Of course, that would assume I was elected as governor or some other equivalent office.
And, if I could only get elected to a more local office, I would work to keep criminal predators off city streets and away from children and elderly citizens, so that fewer senseless crimes could be committed. As is, there are far too many abductions in our area and it's down-right scary. My opinion is that we should keep offenders off the streets and away from us. We already know certain convicted felons are prone to violence and will commit the same crimes time and again if allowed to do so. So why give them a second chance to hurt our families. So, no more revolving prison doors!
That's what I would do to help my fellow citizen and make their lives more enjoyable. How about you? If you could get elected to a significant political office, what would you do to improve the lives of the people in your community?

I would work on healthcare and make sure that our elderly and people that cannot take care of themselves, could have what they need and get the help they need. Get healthcare down to affordable rates.
I also would work at getting our jobs back here and not depend so heavily on other countries.

I support you to be elected one hundred percent without any retainment. I think that you would be a very good government officer once elected. With your nice and effective work to your civilians, I think that it would be a better world. Keep up that election, beauty queen. I am on your side.

Well here I go.. I am elected by beautyqueen26, so my first action would not be popular with other politians because I would be cutting all perks, no more freeby's, Politians would now pay for their own meals, transport and holidays, this would save a lot of money to put into healthcare and all Nursing Homes would be beautiful places where the elderly will be looked after and relatives will not feel guilty about having to put their parents in when things get too hard for them to care for. all Wages would be looked into that everyone is earning in comparison to the profits that companies are making...that covers the first month... I will work on the months after... :)
