What's your biggest excuse?

What's the biggest excuse that you use on a daily basis? My biggest and best excuse for not doing anything, would be that I just don't have the time to do it. No spare time! That's my excuse. My house is messy. Too bad. I just don't have time, cause I'm busy posting on My Lot. My spouse is hungry and demanding dinner. Too bad, I don't have time to cook, cause I'm busy cleaning. Wish I could post more discussions or responses on My Lot, but once again, I don't have the time, cause I'm busy taking care of my kid. Lack of time is my biggest (and most true) excuse. Years ago, I had so much free time (way before my kid was born) and I frittered it away. Now, those days are only a happy memory.
For awhile my spouse's biggest excuse for not doing anything or buying anything was lack of money. And, it was a very true excuse. But, then I started working online and making my own money, so now he doesn't use that excuse anymore. Dilemma solved!
So, what is your biggest and best excuse for anything? For instance, do you have a big excuse for not going back to college or getting married? Is it a valid excuse or just another reason not to move on? What's the number one excuse that you use for postponing more college education? What excuse do you use often when your spouse asks you to paint the house or mow the lawn? What excuse do you give your signifigant other for postponing marriage or children? Is there one really big excuse that you use most often (such as lack of time or money) that gets you out of doing almost anything?

I use "I'm too busy" or "I don't have time" a lot, too. :) I really am busy so much of the time, though! Some days it's hard to find time to do anything extra. Especially if I have a deadline or my son has a playdate or something. Our days are just too full, but usually I like it that way.
I also use the money excuse, but usually that's to stop my husband from buying something we don't need. lol We do have a budget that I really try to stick to. I want to get completely debt free, and with the huge car payment we have, that is going to take too long if we don't work on paying extra on something every month.
As far as college, I would kind of like to go back, but we can't afford for me to right now. We're still paying student loans from when I did go there way back in 2002. Also we are paying a student loan from cosmetology school, which I did continue to use until I opted to stay home with my son instead. Maybe if/when I decide that I am too old to do hair (I already have a bad back, it really hurts after being on my feet for long hours), I will go back to school. Then again, maybe not.

Maybe you could manage your own shop? And, charge other stylists to have booths in your shop. With property values being as they are in your area, you might have luck finding a reasonable lease on commercial space. And, who would know the cosmetology market better than someone who had already been in it. Just an idea. I am sure you will do well at whatever you decide.

"I'm tired"...I say it all the time!! I tell my kids "Mom's too tired"....I am always feeling tired and have no energy =) Maybe if I got up to do more I wouldn't be so tired all the time =) I started exercising when school started last week and I am not so tired anymore, but that is my main excuse. I say it and then still do what I need to do. My excuse for not going back to college would be that I don't have anyone to watch my kids while I went to class, and we don't have the money to pay anyone to watch him, and even if we did would I trust then to watch my babies?? Probably not. Now I am tired so I am going to take a TV break =)

try my hardest not to make excuses- I try to do what is asked of me- like mowing the yard or painting the house- thankfully it’s not asked often : ) My biggest excuse is the same as yours- ~not enough time~ I just can’t help it- there isn’t enough time in the day to get everything done- I limit my computer time because I have things much more important to do- If I could stay up longer at night- I’d get more done online- but I need the down time with my sig. other- and I need sleep- So there is never enough time!

My biggest excuse would be "I am not in the mood for this", I find that if I say that that day, then nothing could be done! Not a single thing in my project would be done if I have that mentality. Now I try to work on my stuff no matter how I feel, like it or dislike it at that moment. I think only not letting myself having that excuse over and over again would benefit me in the long run.

That is a very good point that you have brought up. Sometimes mind set does play a major role in our daily accomplishments. As well, I have to watch myself, so that I don't allow myself to get into the dull-drums and lay about all day feeling bad. I don't do it often, but when I do, it's devastating to everything and everyone in my life. Nothing gets done, at all! And, everyone is depending on me.

Right I don't do that often but I usually notice myself doing that over at the weekends! Horrible!

I'm a homebody so I don't like to go out too often. So when my officemates used to ask me to go with them in their gimmicks, I would always just say "I have to go somewhere." That's my favorite excuse for not going out with them. The truth is I'm just chillin' at home.
